Kisa stared out of the window. Drops of rain trickled down the glass after landing on it with a soft 'pit' or 'pat'. It depended on the raindrop itself.

Her face was rather gloomy, or did the weather make it seem that way?

The shouji door slid open and a middle school student entered the room.

'Kisa?'

The girl looked up at the boy. 'Hiro.'

Instantly, the boy named Hiro sank down next to her and asked: 'what is wrong?'

With a soft smile, she shook her head and looked away. 'Mmm-mm.'

For a moment, he stayed quiet and thought.

Tomorrow, they would be leaving for a class trip. Even after the curse being lifted, Kisa still was a bit insecure about her appearance. Hiro could tell.

'Kisa.'

She looked at him. 'Yes?'

He sighed and offered her a smile. 'Kisa.'

'What is it?' asked the girl in a gentle voice.

He gently took her arm and pulled her closer. 'Don't worry, Kisa.'

He earned a questioning look and as an answer he draped an arm around her shoulders. 'I'll be there.'

'Where?'

Bending slightly, he whispered into her ear.

A smile tugged at his face when he saw that she finally understood. With a shy smile, she buried her face in his shirt.

Even though the rain did not stop that evening, the clouds in Sohma Kisa's mind had dissolved and the sun was shining because -

'I'll be there, wherever you need me to be.'

- was all that she needed to hear from her knight.
