[A/N]: Not seeing many Scorpion stories, and I know people like me want 'em, so I'm writing every little idea that comes into my head. Enjoy.

Happy was working late on the computer she was making from scratch. She needed to build these speakers while the idea was in the front of her mind. She heard the door open and looked up from her project. In walked Toby, tossing his worn leather wallet from hand to hand. She stood up, and Toby noticed her. "What are you doing here, Happy?" he asked in a monotone, a blank look on his face. Happy knew that look all too well. "Toby, you didn't," she said in disbelief. He'd been gambling.

"You know you made a deal with Walter." Toby shrugged. "I don't really care right now." Happy scowled. "You promised Walter you'd quit! You promised all of us!" Toby didn't show any emotion. "Nothing matters to me right now."

He went over and put his full wallet in his desk drawer, slamming it shut afterwards. Happy started packing up her computer. And then she surprised Toby by starting to empty the contents of her desk into her messenger bag. "What are you doing?" he inquired in that same offhand tone, like he didn't really want an answer. Happy shrugged. "I'm not sticking around to watch you destroy yourself. I'm leaving, Toby." She finished packing up and headed for the exit.

Toby snapped out of his trance and ran to stand in front of the door. "You can't just...leave!" Happy glared at him with fire in her eyes. "To hell I can't!" She tried to push past him. But Toby was unyielding. "What about the team? We need your skills!" Happy shrugged. "There can't be a shortage of engineers and mechanics. Find one." Toby then finally relented. "We don't need a mechanic, Happy. We need you. You're part of the team." Happy met his eyes. "If I'm important to the team, then you are too. But I'm not going to watch you destroy yourself. You either quit gambling for good, or next time I leave."

Toby sighed in relief. "Okay. But what about...bad circumstances?" Happy gave him a look. "No. And what do you mean by bad circumstances?" Toby didn't answer her, he merely pulled out his phone and played her the voicemail from his ex-fiancée. Happy's eyes narrowed as the message finished. "Well, forget her. Next time something comes up, I have a whole collection of action movies. Come over anytime you want."

She then returned to her desk and unloaded her bad, leaving a mess of tools and parts. "I'll clean it in the morning," she muttered. Toby looked down at the floor before mumbling, "I'm sorry?" Happy turned to face him. "What are you sorry for?" He sighed. "I'm sorry for putting guys through this because I can't keep my emotions in check." Happy shrugged and headed for the door. "I told you, people only let you down. Tools never do. Remember that next time you get contact from her." With that, she left Toby to his thoughts.

[A/N]: Sorry if I didn't get Toby and Happy right. I guess I just kind of...connect with Walter more. Hard to explain, but I relate to him. Hope you liked it!
