What an idiot. Endearing, but still an idiot. The way his green eyes lit up whenever she called him 'Kitty'. The way he could always turn a serious situation into a laughable moment. And, secretly, his puns and nicknames were endearing as well. They always made her laugh, even if she struggled to make no reaction. Marinette opened her eyes as she looked up at those all too familiar green eyes. Her vision was blurry and she could faintly hear Chat sobbing in a distance, "My Lady, Princess, stay with me. I need you. I'll- I'll even stop punning if you stay!" It was odd. There was rain all around them, but for an umbrella Chat had obviously propped up... That umbrella... She faintly heard an insistent beep coming from somewhere. Chat didn't seem to pay any mind to it. "Marinette, stay with me!" One last beep sounded before green light filled the alley. But Ladybug was fading away. Tikki was gone. Stolen by Hawkmoth. As the green light faded, the flame of life that always danced in the designer's eyes faded as well. "Goodbye... Kitty..." she mustered all her last strength to give the love of her life, one final smile. "I...love...you..." with those words, she went limp. One single ladybug that had been sheltered under the umbrella, fluttered away into the rain and into a single beam of sunshine that had broken through the dark clouds. Followed by the song of one mourning the loss of his love and partner.
