Hey y'alls! Hope you enjoy this. I have a really sneaky feeling that Emily is completely OOC, and for that I do apologize.

Disclaimer:Totally and completely not mine.

You're sitting in the auditorium, waiting for play rehearsal to start. Emily comes running up to you, eyes red and puffy, and your heart immediately starts to hurt because you know what this is about. Emily was never good at hiding emotions, and her off-again boyfriend's escapades are no exception. As she begins explaining the newest heartbreak-something about Sarah and the broom closet, but really, they're all starting to run together by this point-your hearing begins to go, and you end up catching random phrases.

"…tongue…practically down her fucking throat! I really…and you know...hook up with Derek…"

Wait.

What?

"Weren't you listening? I was SAYING that I know that Derek's coming back from college this spring break, and it's practically inevitable that I'm gonna hook up with him, since it's nearly happened, what, five times now? And now I'm all confused and I still like Shawn, and I don't know what to DO!" She stares at you, her eyes wide and blood shot.

You stare back, and suddenly, all the air in the rooms seems to be sucked out, and you can't breathe and your stomach is so tied up in knots you honestly feel as though you're about to puke and all you can think is "Nononono not that PLEASE anything but that oh god please-"

She's still staring at you, waiting for an answer. Waiting for you to solve all her problems for her with a kind word and a hug.

You stammer out "Um…well, uh, you-you really shouldn't do it. After all, he's gonna leave after break, and you'll be sad again. And it wouldn't be fair to him, really…" And you hope to God she hasn't noticed that fact that your hands are sweating, and you suddenly want to throw her out a window for even thinking about hooking up with him.

She seems to buy it, because she nods. "You're so right. I mean, we almost dated this fall, and he was all immature about it-"

Again, the air disappears, and you feel as though you've suddenly contracted vertigo, and you're just imaging Emily and Derek together and everything grows dim and fuzzy, and you really, REALLY need to go lie down. Only you can't, because she's still there talking at you.

You don't remember what either of you said after that, but apparently it helped, because she finally leaves. And as Truman comes and kisses you good morning, all you can think-

Your life?

Completely fucked.

...Yeah.
