Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Toby Had a Little Lamb" from Season 6. Enjoy and comment.
It was wintertime on the Island of Sodor. The wind was blowing, and snow covered the ground.
The engines were working hard, but really were looking forward to returning back to Tidmouth Sheds, where it was always warm.
Toby was puffing along.
"Soon I'll be back in my nice warm shed." thought Toby.
Suddenly, he saw Farmer McColl standing knee-deep in the snow. He was waving his red flag.
Toby's driver applied the brakes.
"My sheep are having lambs soon." said Farmer McColl. "They're trapped on the hillside!"
"What can we do to help?" asked Toby.
"I need a vet as quickly as possible."
"We'll telephone the vet at the next signal-box." said Toby's driver.
And so Toby puffed away.
Soon, Toby arrived at the signal-box.
They telephoned the vet, who soon arrived, along with Sir Topham Hatt.
"Farmer McColl's sheep are trapped on the hillside!" cried Toby. "We've got to rescue them!"
"I'll send Duck right away!" said Sir Topham Hatt. "This is a job for a engine with a snowplow!"
Toby knew Duck was the right engine for the job.
Since there was so much snow, Duck had to take his time plowing the snow.
But the tracks ahead were blocked.
"We can't go on!" called his driver. "We'll have to turn around."
So Duck did.
Toby was surprised to see Duck return to the station.
"I tried my hardest!" said Duck, "but there's too much snow."
Then, Toby had an idea.
"My old branch-line runs out there!" said Toby. "Duck can use that!"
"It's far too dangerous!" said Sir Topham Hatt. "It wouldn't handle Duck's weight."
"It might handle my weight!" replied Toby, "and I know that line by heart! It's our only chance to help the lambs!"
Sir Topham Hatt agreed, but he told Toby to be careful.
Soon, it began to snow a lot!
Toby's driver was worried, but Toby wanted to help the lambs.
He had forgotten however, about the old bridge.
"My wheels are wobbling!" Toby cried as he passed the bridge.
His driver fought for control, as Toby struggled on.
Toby managed to cross the bridge!
Farmer McColl was waiting. It was very cold
Finally, Toby made it!
"You've made it!" cried Farmer McColl. "What a brave engine you are!"
The vet and Farmer McColl went to find the sheep and lambs.
"The sheep and lambs are safe and sound!" said the vet when he return, "but we need a place for them to stay and be warm."
Toby knew exactly where they could stay.
The sheep and lambs stayed in Henrietta for the night.
Toby stayed for several days to watch the lambs, and Farmer McColl was very pleased with Toby.
