He ran, She followed.

Nobody got him like she did. When he did something stupid, she would scold him, telling him to not be such a dummy and listen to her better. She joked around him like nobody else did, carefree and teasing him even, something no one else dared. When facing opponents, she would know what to do. Always giving him advice on the matter before others would or even could. A part of him had been longing for her touch, her eyes, her laughter and her understanding, because it was difficult, sometimes. She would help him get through it. He would run and she would follow. The silent grieving had hurt him, he had been so lonely. After all, she was the girl who changed his world.

Now, she stood right before him. Eyes sparkling with joy and a soft smile on her face. Yet, she looked a tad sad, as if worried about something. She looked deeply into his eyes and he in hers. Her smile becoming more vast now she had found his warm, comforting, brown eyes again. He smiled now too, despite that his eyes were beginning to burn. He pricked the watery drops away and looked at the ground, ashamed as he was, sinking so low as to cry before his friend. The world around him became vague, a white cloud covering faces he didn't care for and didn't pay attention to.

Yes, he did cry now. Feeling his eyes burn up again, he tried to swipe them away with his eyelashes, batting them furiously, but could not prevent the warm tears from rolling down his face. A cloud that had been hanging over his head for the past months was lifting. Finally, after all this time, he could let it out. The comforting air she had around her touched him once more. He let out a shaky breath and even his eternal frowning eyebrows lifted. The boy tried to breathe through his nose, masquerading the fact that whimpers wanted to escape his clenched teeth, but found his nose stuffed up. Opening his mouth, he inhaled deeply before letting out a shaky breath. All his worries and all the thoughts that he had when she wasn't here vanished into thin air. The dark clouds had come raining down on him, making an ocean in something hollow, filling it up again. It had begun with the first look they shared when they saw each other again. Wet drops came down over his parted lips, tasting them, filling him up even more. Soft whimpers escaped his mouth, slowly becoming louder before turning into low cries. His body shivered and he balled his fist, trying to calm himself down. He put a hand over his face, muffling the sobs that came from within. Feeling weak in his knees, he fell down.

It's okay now. She's here.

Tears had made his face wet and his other hand now covered his eyes. He lowered his upper body and head. Bowing before the girl. She stepped forwards, hand reaching for the boy's head. Her cold hands touched his heated and wet face. Fingers trailed over his face, wiping under his eyes, brushing the tears away, before cupping his cheek. He wanted to hold her, bringing her closer to his chest, but his body didn't respond. At her touch, mind was lost.

"Ichigo," the girl whispered softly. "You alright?"

Putting her other hand against his cheek, she bumped her head softly against his, her eyes now closed too.

She's here. It's okay.

She embraced him. And boy, was he alright.

I suddenly wanted to write Ichigo crying. First time I published fanfic, constructive criticism?
