When Bella pulled me into the middle of the floor to dance I could only grin as she spun around to face me. Her loose hair swung around her. It was her idea to go out tonight and I welcomed the change of pace. For the last few weeks we had been shoved into our apartment; cramming for finals. For Bells college came naturally. For me, not so much. We chose to stay close to our dads so University of Washington became our college of choice. Dad was elated that I had chosen to go to college and with a little prodding from me and Charlie, Bella was right there with me. Finals were over and college was finally finished; Bella and I were going to open a garage. With her as business manager.
Her laugh pulled me from my thoughts. She really did look beautiful tonight. Her mahogany hair was hanging loose in what seemed like effortless waves. A simple dress outlined her beautiful figure and her favorite chucks adorned her feet. I had to smile at that.
My girl wasn't the same depressed, lost girl that had come to me out of the blue with a truck bed of two crappy bikes that weren't the only things that needed to be put back to together. She was an empty shell left by that asshole Edward Cullen. Bells has grown into an amazingly warm, quick to laugh, woman who still holds on to her quirky outfits. She has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met and would do anything for anyone. Actually, I might have to thank Edward for leaving because if he hadn't, then I wouldn't be dating the most amazing girl in the world.
The next song came on and Bells grinned at me, her whole face lighting up. (Walk the Moon: Shut Up and Dance)

The grin I was wearing was hurting my cheeks but I couldn't find it in myself to actually care. It didn't hurt to have a little fun. Especially being college graduates, we deserved a little fun. Besides, Jake wouldn't ever let anything happen to me anyway. We danced like we were young teenagers again. Jumping around and Jake spinning me; his reflexes had always been better than mine so I trusted him to not let me fall.
I could almost see the love shining in his eyes and I would be lying if I said I didn't feel the same about him. He had tried for so long to put me back together and to handle himself and the pack that I never realized how amazing he was for putting up with everything he did. Especially at the age he had been.
I reached up to my tiptoes and kissed him when he pulled me close; his lips soft yet firm against mine. He pulled me closer to deepen the kiss but I ducked down under his arm and spun out. Dancing to the song once more (Hey, I gained some balance over the years!). His eyes darkened slightly. His wolf side loved the chase.
Jake opened his mouth to talk and I beat him to it.
"Jake?"
"Yes Bells?" he rumbled deeply.
"Shut up and dance with me." I grinned.
