"Yeah, I love painting!" Dean declared, leaning back in his chair. He and Sam were at a diner in Kentucky, stopping for a breather in between cases. Dean was flirting shamelessly with the waitress, giving her the whole Dean Winchester routine, and this time he claimed to harbor a love for painting that Cheryl, the waitress, had as well.

Cheryl leaned over the counter, gazing at Dean.

Sam wanted to throw up. Why did he have to be here for this again? Suddenly, an idea sparked. "I didn't know you had such a passion for the arts, Dean," said Sam. "Who's your favorite painter, Cheryl?"

"Peter Doig," she said, not taking her eyes from Sam's brother. "Do you like him, Dean?"

Sam smirked. Dean hadn't realized what he was doing quite yet. "Oh, yeah," claimed Dean. "Who doesn't love Doig?"

"What's your favorite painting of his?" asked Cheryl.

Dean grew visibly uncomfortable, but he kept that rugged smile on his face and continued to charm Cheryl. "You know, I like all of them. He's like a god among painters; how could I pick just one?"

"But if you had to," interjected Sam, "pick just one, which one would it be?"

Dean flashed him a deadly glare before turning back to the waitress and grinning nervously. "Well… I like… I mean, Doug's amazing, how could I—"

Cheryl's smile dropped. "Doig."

"What?"

"Doig, not Doug. Do you even like him?"

"Um… I…"

Cheryl made a sound of distaste and left to attend to another table.

"Well," Sam said, laughing, "there goes your passion for painting."

Dean glared at him.
