I'm simply telling the story of the video game of American McGee's: Alice.

Quotes have been used.

Either way, I still hope you enjoy it, of course. And if you havn't played the game but plan on buying it, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. Unless your just a cheater using this as a walkthrough. xD

Also, sorry it's so short, but it's just the beginning of the story, after all~

Flames engulfed her books and toys. Black acidic smoke filled her nose and she had to squint her eyes just so she could see. The pungent smell of burning wood, paper and plastic filled the air. Alice ran to her parents room, banging on the door.

"Mother?! Father?! Mom! Dad!" she yelled at the door, coughing.

"Alice, run! Save yourself! Get out of the house!" they called to her.

The smoke became too much and she started to cough more, eyes watering. She ran to the front door, frantically shaking the doorknob to open the door. The door cracked and broke off the hinges, making her fall off the porch with the door. She could sense her mind starting to get fuzzy with her vision. She took a last glimpse at the house. Fire and smoke rose high into the vivid snowing sky. Wood cracked and fell, feeding the fire more. Glass from the windows shattered, scattering everywhere around it like the snowflakes. Sirens could barely be heard in the distance, getting closer. Darkness consumed her mind...

"She's obviously not getting better...Poor dear."

"Yeah, the death of her parents must have been just too much..."

"Hopefully that stuffed bunny will bring her around."

Alice heard the nurse and doctor just outside her room. Talking about her, of course, like they always do. She scratched at the bandages covering her scarred and bloody wrists. How long has she been in Rutledge Asylum, she could no longer remember now. Time faded into itself. The cruel voices she heard reminded her every second she was alone. The stuffed bunny lay limp by her side. Those nurses may seem nice, but as it turns out, they are opposite. How they mistreat her, and not some of the other occupants as much. It seems to have been 10 years, she had overheard from nurses talk, that she's been there. She slowly pulled the stuffed rabbit closer. She stared into the beady, shiny black eyes.

"SAVE US ALICE," the toy suddenly moaned.

"Ahhh!!" she screamed as she fell down a strange, obscure vortex. She landed hard on the dirty ground with a loud THUD. She looked up to see a rather dirty, ugly White Rabbit. His two rabbit teeth stuck out tremendously, his ears were crooked and they twitched from time to time. His small suit was slightly torn in a few places.

"Please, don't dawdle Alice. We are very late indeed," he said before bouncing away. As the rabbit went out of sight, a ghost-like shadow appeared, revealing an almost grotesque Cheshire Cat.

"You've grown quite mangy, Cat. But your grin's a comfort." Alice said, greeting the extremely bony cat.

"And you've picked up a bit of an attitude. Still curious and willing to learn, I hope." He asked, sniffing her from where he sat.

"Wonderland has become quite strange. How is one to find her way?" Alice asked casually, rocking back and forth on her feet.

"As knowing where you're going is preferable to being lost, ask. Rabbit knows a thing or two. And I, myself, don't need a weathervane to tell which way the wind blows..." He hisses out.

"Let your need guide your behavior. Suppress your instinct to lead. Pursue Rabbit." he hissed again, slowly disappearing to a smile and blinding yellow glowing eyes, then disappearing completely.

With the unknown path and journey before her, she started off to follow Rabbit...
