Chapter 1: The Encounter

I say there, on the back of the golf cart, heading back from lunch. I was starting up at the clouds, thinking about the manga I'd been reading. It off the corner of my eye, I noticed a twinkle in the sky. It was coming toward me, and fast. My first instinct said to get out of the way. As I was about to jump away from the gold cart, I noticed more details about the thing shooting towards me.

Without thinking, I dove off the golf cart, and caught the flying object. Despite the pain in my body, from diving off a moving vehicle, I managed to stay conscious. I peered down at what was in my arms. The first thing I noticed, was the equine build of its body. It was not in any way muscular. It had a sort of lean frame. The next things I noticed, were the colors.

You know normal horse colors. Brown, black, white, red, etc. This was not the case with this horse. The creature was a sort of lemony-yellow color. Even more peculiar, was the color our its mane and tail. They were a hot pink. The final, and most shocking thing I noticed, were a set of extra appendages. It had wings. Honest to goodness wings.

It began to stir in my arms. Fearing it might panic and lash out at me, I set it down on the ground. It slowly opened its eyes, revealing the most beautiful teal eyes I'd ever seen. It quickly looked around, them back at me. What I saw in it's eyes nearly broke my heart. I saw fear. It quickly hid behind its long mane.

"There's no need to be afraid." I said in a calm, quiet voice.

It reminded hidden behind its mane, still apparently scared. I gently reached out, as she shied away from my hand. I halted my reach.

"I promise I won't hurt you. I should probably think of something to call you though." I said, thinking aloud.

"F-Flut-t-ter-sh-shy." I said in a cute, feminine voice.

I almost fell on my back. I had expected a whinny or a neigh, you know, a normal horse noise. I had not expected it to speak english.

"I'm s-sorry. D-did I st-startle you?" She asked kindly.

I realized I had been speechless. A problem I'm not usually afflicted with. I relaxed myself.

"O-oh, no. I just didn't expect you to speak english." I replied, a little curiosity leaking into my speech.

"I-I d-don't. I'm sp-speaking Ponish." She said.

"Would you mind coming with me? I wouldn't exactly feel comfortable leaving you here." I said.

"Oh...ummm...O-ok." She replied. She trotted over slowly, and cautiously. She carefully rubbed her body against me, then sniffed me.

I carefully picked her up and carried her with me to the building where I was working. The rest of the walk was pretty silentsilent, except when we passed a couple birds.

"Hello little friends!" She said, hovering over to them.

I watched as she had what appeared to be a conversation, with them. I chuckled and grabbed her. We continued on to my place of work.
