Kisses Are For Babies, Right?
Mikey pulled me into the dark closet just in time. We were playing Hide-and-Seek, and Raph was it; he never played fair. He always tried to scare me into coming out, I mean, it was pretty easy. We were all just little kids. I was seven, and the guys were eight. Master Splinter treated me as though I was a member of the family, even though I wasn't. I would sneak out whenever I could at night, and I usually came over after school. But now, school was out for summer break, and I barely ever went home.
Raph was headed our way, yelling. "Guys. I know one of you is in here..."
"Stay in here," Mikey whispered as he laughed slightly. He was going to play a trick on Raph for always picking on me. Even though I was boyish most of the time, Raph never seemed to like me. "I'm gonna make him pay for putting that sewer gunk in your hair last week..." He reached out and grabbed some of my newly cut hair. Last week, we were playing in a part of the sewers where trash came in. I was playing with Donnie's new toy that he made for me and Mikey, when Raph told me to follow him into another part around the corner. When I got there, he wasn't, and I started looking around. Then, I heard him laugh, and he tossed a bucket of something all over my head. I ran out of the sewer crying, and today was my first time back. Raph hadn't talked to me. I went to talk, but Mikey put his hand on my mouth. That's when Raph got close to the closet door.
"Mikey... I know you're in there. Or is it your little girlfriend, _?" I heard him say and Mikey blushed. He looked angry almost and quickly took his hand from my face. "I bet you're both kissing in there, right? Well, kisses are for big babies!" This time I blushed. I heard him laughing from the other side of the door, and he started to mess with the doorknob. "Kissy-kissy!" H e started making kissing noises when
suddenly—
"Raphael! Stop that immediately. You know better than that!" I could hear Master Splinter yell. "You are to go train now."
"But, sensei—"
"Raphael..."
"Yes, sensei..."
I could hear the sound of feet and then nothing. I sighed and looked over to Mikey and saw him blushing still. "Are you okay, Mikey?"
He nodded, and I decided that I wanted out of this game. I opened the door and started to walk out, when I felt him grab my arm gently. "_, when he said that you were my girlfriend, what did he mean?"
I looked at him. "I think he meant that we're best friends..."
He looked back at me. "And the kissing stuff? If we're best friends, does that mean that we have to kiss and stuff?"
I blushed. "I guess so..."
I looked away, but he held my face, bringing it close to his. "He said that kissing is for babies," he leaned closer, touching his lips to mine, "but if it means that I get to be best friends with you, I think I'll like being a baby..."
I smiled. "I think so, too..."
"Guys, there you are!"
We pulled apart, and saw Leo running into the room, Donnie not far behind. "We were looking for you guys. The pizzas are ready—come on!"
We looked at each other as they ran back out. "Ready to eat, best friend?" he asked as he kissed my cheek.
I kissed his and said, "Yeah, if you're ready..."
He held up his hand, and I took it, walking out of the room.
If being friends means being a baby, I thought, I will like being a baby.
The End
Just figured I'd make a cute little drabble about one of my favorite characters. =)
