The plan was perfect, and everything was going according to the laid out plan. The mindset of everyone involved was confident, and it looked like there would be no err. Godot couldn't help but smile to himself as he crossed over Dusky Bridge, following Misty Fey closely. He had been able to get to Hazakura temple easily as he gave the excuse that he had an out of town for a case, claiming to anyone who asked that he had to take it to the state courts to settle. He then would make sure Maya was safe, and get home the next day. Now all that needed to happen was to secure Pearl Fey, and prevent the child from channeling the murderous spirit of Dahlia Hawthorne.
Godot silenced his thoughts as they hit solid ground again, becoming grim. He followed the woman silently, scanning around for Pearl. Not seeing her anywhere, Misty moved to the garden, And finding Maya. Breathing a small sigh of relief as Maya turned, wholly unharmed to face them in the darkness, only visible to Godot due to his visor.
Then, to Godot's surprise, Misty unsheathed her hidden sword, which had been housed in her decorative staff. It was then that he realised that to keep Pearl from channeling Dahlia, Misty had done it herself. Acting quickly, he sprung into action, gaining an upper hand as Maya managed to push her attacker away as they advanced.
Seeing this as his moment to strike, he grabbed the sword from Misty, coming face-to-face with none other than Dahlia Hawthorne. Feeling rage and hate bubble up in him for all that she did to him, he pushed her aside and plunged the blade smoothly into back, feeling no give as it slid through her. He staggered back, surprised at what he had done, eyes wide with shock.
Then, everything within sight became illuminated as Lightning raced across the sky, its celestial path carving down toward the earth with blinding light. In a stupor, Godot couldn't help but stare, momentarily distracted as the natural phenomenon ruined all chance of his escape, the bridge beginning to blaze in a captivating effulgence, the ravenous flare capturing a wide radius in its incandescence. Enraptured, Godot didn't take notice of Dahlia, still alive, as she let out a feral screech, and tore his mask off, dragging her hidden dagger across his face. Sudden agony flaring across his face, burning as intensely as the flame engulfing Dusky Bridge, as the woman crumpled, overtaken by the internal haemorrhaging, and lulling off to death.
Awestruck at how things went so wrong, Godot stopped to tear a peice of cloth off of the body, pressing it to his weeping wound, and picking up his fallen visor, restoring his vision. He threw the body over his shoulder, carrying over to the bridge, where he noticed his other accomplice, Iris, waiting. Thinking quickly, he noticed a fallen guide wire to the bridge, and grabbed it, calling out his plan to the other side. He pushed the body across, making a makeshift pendulum, giving a smirk as the body landed without a hitch on the other side. 'About the only thing that has...' he thought darkly, giving a nod to Iris as he turned, walking away to attempt to clean up the scene, hiding himself within the Inner Temple to wait to be discovered…
