Hey, so I realized that the PJO series never really mentioned that one of Poseidon's domains was being an earth shaker. (I know, I know. I'm slow, but what can you do *shrugs shoulders*) So this is what I think happens.

Percy p.o.v.

My sword, Riptide, swung in a deadly arch, slicing through the skin of the minotaur with ease. He bellowed in pain, a great big boomthat sounded like someone slammed a thirty-foot tall door while chucking gravel everywhere at the same time. His beefy head lowered until the horns on his head pointed straight at me. He pawed the ground like a real bull does when it fights in a clichéd matador battle. Then, he powered forward, and I readied my stance, intently focused. Or so I thought.

I didn't notice how his central focus shifted from me to something just past me. And when he charged right past me, I was stunned. I didn't even take a swipe at him. When he was a good twenty feet past me, I revived myself and scanned the field looking for what caught his interest. His path unfolded clearly in my mind, like an arrow pointing to a place that said 'destination.'

Annabeth.

I couldn't yell to save her, she was locked in combat already with the manticor, but I wouldn't reach her in time to stop the minotaur, either. Fear and rage coursed through my already energy pumped body, heightening my senses further.

I quickly side-stepped a stupid draecnae and stabbed Riptide through her unprotected side. She slowly dissolved into golden dust as she died, making me feel as if I wasn't a total failure. I could've sworn I saw Thanatos fly by with his 'deathpad'— the iPad with a different name —muttering about how this was,

"So much harder than Flappy Bird." I kind of just blinked in shock. His iPad had games. The god of death had games on his deathpad.

I glanced back at Annabeth and desperation added to my mix of emotions. I felt a small tug in my gut, like when I control the water, but . . . different. It made me feel more . . . grounded.

Instinctively, I raised my foot up off the earth, like I was going to take a step forward, but slammed it back down as hard as I could instead. Surprisingly, it didn't break my foot like I thought it might a split second before it actually touched the dirt. The ground buckled under the force I put behind it and rippled and rolled outwards, sending monsters and demigods alike stumbling around like drunkards due to the quake.

Quickly, I willed the earth to spare the demigods, and allowing it to amplify under the monsters. The minotaur stumbled and grunted in distress, and Annabeth, who's opponent fell down because of the unsteady ground, and then died because of the drakon bone sword Daemason gave her, heard and snapped around to face him quickly. Her eyes widened when she saw the carnage I caused, ground shaking, monsters dead, demigods fighting, and then they narrowed slightly. Even from here, I could see the gears turning in her brain. Her beautiful, intimidating, grey eyes locked onto mine and she mouthed,

"Thanks."

I grinned.

The tug in my gut lessened as the fear dissolved. The minotaur crumpled into nothing with one well-aimed swipe from Annabeth, and Thanatos scrambled to add more monsters to his collection. All was well considering the physical embodiment of the earth would rise fully if we lost.
