Chapter one- The beginning of the end

It was already dark. The silence of the night covered us. Not even our steps could be heard. But that wasn't going to make me feel safe. We've been trough too much stuff to let that trick us.

But, on the other hand, I though we've been trough too much stuff anyway, so I wasn't exactly the most trustable person.

Gods, couldn't I have a normal date with a normal girl in a normal night with NORMAL problems that did NOT included being interrupted by monsters every two minutes or so?

By the way, I guess the gods are less guilty than the titans, but that's a whole new story, so whatever.

Well, anyway, we ran through the opened door and took cover behind a trash can filled with rests of Big Macs. That's my New York, so get used to it.

Only then i had time to breath. But, as every relax moment in my life, didn't last long.

-That was close, huh? I guess he won't get us here.

Without a single word and looking completely petrified, Annabeth poked my arm.

-What is it now? He's down at the sta-

Then I stopped talking.

Because a dozen dracaenas were staring right at our faces.

At that moment I thanked silently that Riptide was always in my pocket, because with all my AHDH stuff, I would surely left it in my desk. So I opened it and, in no time, we were monster-free. Covered in monster dust, but still monster free.

-How did they found us?

-Well, I guess that it was our fault. They were in the middle of some kind of reunion.

-I wonder why… Dracaena aren't too sociable with each other, not in groups larger than three.

To those who only arrived now, I was taking Annabeth to an architect show in Times Square. Like in a cinema, but with a lot ofsmall buildings on the corridors instead of movies. You know, kind of the stuff I though she was going to like. And she did. At least before the hellhound appeared and crushed every thing under his paws. I tried to control him, but he wasn't exactly friendly. Nico would listen about keeping those things under control. O, how would he.

And that led us to where we left.

-Annabeth, I know this was supposed to be a calm day, but I think maybe we should go home…

-You're right. Too much monsters around this place.

And that's how it all started again.
