The Daughter of Lao Ma
I followed the warrior princess, friend of my mother through the forest. Someone had taken the book, the book that I wanted. My mother's book of wisdom. She sent the horses off, and we walked toward the cave that the person who had taken the book was in.
I knew who had taken the book.
My sister, Kao Sin.
She was weak. Together, we could have power to rule the world. But she did not want that. She wanted peace.
A weak fool.
Well, her time would come. I was not anxious to destroy my own flesh and blood, but perhaps an accident with the black powder would suffice.
An accident where it was possible she could survive, but there was no way she would.
We walked into the cave.
She sat, with her back to us, poring over the pages.
"Hello, sister" she said.
That was when it all clicked to Xena. That one of us had to have been the one to resurrect the secret of black powder.
And somehow, she made Kao Sin give her the book, which she placed in her saddlebag. And then of course, she figured out it was me.
Which of course it was.
I flew at her, kicking, but she pulled out her sword and chased me away.
Before I left, though, I ran to the saddlebag, and pulled out the book.
I ran with it back to my camp. She didn't follow me.
it was only prayers, and mediation, and notes. It was not my mother's book of wisdom.
I swore. "Xena has fooled me for the last time. I will have that book!"
I found Xena's friends in the woods.
"Pao Su" the blonde said "Where's Xena?"
"She sent me to come find you. Follow me, quickly!"
They followed me, not knowing they were walking into a trap.
I called out "Xena!" Gabrielle and Joxer were tied to stakes, surrounded by black powder.
She ran out, and I said "Give me the book!" I lifted a flaming torch.
"There's no way you can save them, unless you give me the book!"
"How do I know you won't just drop the torch anyway, once I give it to you?"
"Well, you'll just have to give it to me and find out, won't you?" I laughed.
Just then, my sister ran out. "No" she said. she was carrying the book.
"We have to give her the book. Don't you see? We have to achieve a perfect peace. don't you remember Mother's words?"
"The hawk and the dove must become one with the wisdom" we said together.
"Yes" I said.
"Here." Kao Sin, the weak fool, handed me the book.
"You're right, Xena." I said. "I would have dropped the torch anyway."
I dropped it and laughed.
"Aya!" I yelled to my horse as I got into the saddle. My army followed me off into the woods.
It didn't matter to me what had happened to Xena and her friends. All that mattered was that I now had the book. I could conquer the world!!
I'm going to end this here, because I need to see Purity and Back in The Bottle again to write the rest.
But there will probably be a sequel
