Rescue Gone Wrong
To begin with, I claim no ownership of anything in this that was made by Capcom, and am debating if I want to claim what I may create while making this story (Probably won't).
This story is AU from the Resident Evil timeline/story, with the following point as a major difference. The town of Raccoon City was not blow off the map, istead it was decided to create numberous new S.T.A.R.S. Teams, with the intent of getting any non-infected out, and slowly wiping out the zombie infection, however long it may take.

As my last note, this story is set late in the year 2000, and other peices of backstory may find their way into the actual story (Maybe even cannons if I feel like it).
Ume Manami sat in the helicopter, making sure her digtal camera looked down at the ruined Raccoon City. Motioning to the pilot to go lower, she wanted to make sure the footage would be good. Turning the camera to herself, she began to speak into the camera with the most photogenic voice the nineteen year old girl could muster.
"Below us stands Raccoon City, the only place in history to ever have a 'zombie outbreak'. For the past two years, the brave members of S.T.A.R.S. have done their best to save anyone still alive down there and curb the outbreak of the dead." Pausing to turn the camera back down to the city, Ume, she continued in a questioning voice. "But has it truly been enough? A little over two years since the city was cut off from the world, and zombies still rule the streets. The number of people rescued? Few, with no stories from the city brought to light. Today, I give you all a look into the city, and you can decide if..."
In the middle of her sentance, the copter shook, starting an alarm with a blinking red light. As they began to shake out of control, the pilot called out to Ume and her bodygaurd, "Brace yourself!" Within a minute, the helicopter crashed into the streets of Raccoon city, luckily not exploding on impact.
