"Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again." Faramir silently said to his father. His father's critisim at his incompetence stung Faramir's heart. He bowed to his father and left the throne room.
Maybe someday you'll look up
And barely conscious, you'll say to no one
Isn't something missing
As he changed into his armor, Faramir began to weep. "Father doesn't love me. He never did. He blames me for mother dying." Faramir's birth had been a hard one. His mother had died while giving birth to him. Not only that, but he remembered relatives remarking that he looked just like her. For all that, his father hated him.
You won't cry for my absence I know
You forgot me long ago
Am I that unimportant
Am I so insignificant
Isn't something missing
Isn't someone missing me
Faramir mounted his horse. He would leave The White City, and not look back.
"I am of no use to my father. I best die and ease my father's pain." Gandalf spoke to him as he rode toward the gates, but he wasn't paying much attention.
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me
He rode into battle, not caring what his fate was. He only had one wish. To die!
Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
I know what you do to yourself
I breathe deep and cry out
Isn't something missing
He led the charge against the orcs, not for his father, but for Gondor and Boromir, the brother who loved him.
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me
The orc's arrows pierced him. As he fell from his horse, Faramir smiled.
"Finally. I'll not cause anymore pain, sorrow, or trouble." The blood poured out of his body. His foot got caught in the stirrup, and his horse dragged him back to Gondor.
And if I bleed
I'll bleed
Knowing you don't care
And if I sleep just to dream of you
I'll wake without you there
As he was dragged back to Gondor, Gandalf's word's echoed.
"Your father loves you Faramir. He will remember it before the end."
"Will he?" Faramir wondered.
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't something missing
Isn't someone missing me
