(Very subtle Satsuki x Koharu) Love is never enough. We were all in love at one time.

Koharu sighed, another six years she'd waited for her Miroku-sama to return. She hadn't wanted to get married, but as a woman it was expected. She was 20 now, in every sense a woman. She had even had a child.
In the back of her mind, she had always known from their last encounter they would never meet again. So she married, while consciously she had protested and said wait but she couldn't. So she was married to a travelling merchant now.
She didn't love him; the only love in her heart would go forever unrequited. The carriage they were riding in finally pulled to a stop. She stepped down, helped by her husband, and looked at the village elder that greeted them, standing beside him, she suspected was either the man's daughter or the wife of his son. She looked young, maybe 14.
They got settled in their room, Koharu left her husband and her child asleep on the floor and sought the company of someone that could actually hold a conversation.
She found the girl she had seen before, sitting out on the hill overlooking the village, staring at the stars.
She sat beside her and inadvertently touched the girls' hand, instantly withdrawing she smiled.
"How old are you?" Koharu asked.
The girl blinked. "I'm 14," she informed her proudly.
Koharu smiled. "I was 14 once, I remember it like it was yesterday," she told her. "What's your name?"
"Satsuki," she replied.
"Oh- this might sound silly, but have you ever been in love?" she asked her new found friend.
Satsuki scooted a little closer. "I think I was, once, but he was a youkai and was only in the village for a short while," she mumbled blushing and looking down at the grass.
Koharu lifted the girls chin up and looked straight into her eyes. "Do not blush, its nothing to be embarrassed about. I was in love once as well," she told her. "But that was then," she finished.
Satsuki took the woman's hand and smiled fondly. "I think we were all in love once," she answered.
Koharu nodded.
They spent that night together, and by the morning when Koharu had to leave, they had both come to an intimate decision.
Love is never enough.
