God won't let you compare him
He won't let you touch him, even think about him
Just light your candles and wait for his promise
He made you prove yourself on the mountain
Made you give up what mattered the most
Who is this God?
Why do you have to be so scared of this God?
How can you believe in fear?
Don't you believe he loves you?

Slaughtered
God watched as millions of his chosen people perished
Muddy, bloody, scared, hopeless
Punished
For not being the same
For killing Christ in a Book
Hated
Laughed At
Bruised and Broken
God keeps watching
When will you be delivered from this land?
You walk around with that funny little cap
Your own little crown of thorns
People looking at you like you're a sickness
Like society's cross to bear

But you light the candles
You worship
Fear
Hurt
Bleed
Cry
You hold your head high
And you believe
You're sure your tyrannical God will never forsake you
Never forget his promise
So you wait
Hated
You must be some breed of heroes.
