Opening AN: This fanfic is my first, so critique and suggestions are much appreciated. This fanfic was inspired by Into the Arc-hive by animegamer89, Arcs of the Multiverse by King-Mac-11, and RWBY and Friends Watch the Multiverse by Reticent Phoenix.
Opening AN 2: I have edited the first chapter because I was a bit trigger happy on publishing my first fanfic and I didn't properly proof-read it. Some of the changes include what happened just before team RWBY got to the movie theater lobby, additional lines, and grammar. The changes won't be major enough for a reread, but I'm just letting you know just in case.
Chapter One: Hello, World!
Beacon Academy. One of the most prestigious Huntsman academy in all of Remnant, and home to Team RWBY. As it was a Saturday, there was no school, and no school meant that students passed time however they saw fit. Blake passed the time by reading Ninjas of Love. Weiss was completing her schoolwork, Ruby was tinkering with Crescent Rose, and Yang just returned after working out, prepping for a shower. Out of the blue, all of their scrolls suddenly rang out a notification sound at the same time. The team went to grab their scrolls, but stopped and looked at each other.
"Heh, strange how we all got a message at the same time, ain't it?" Yang commented.
"It could just be a coincidence," Weiss responded.
Yang shrugged before they broke eye contact and resumed getting their scrolls out, checking who messaged them. They then had looks of confusion, seeing as the messenger had no contact information and had "Unknown Messenger" as their name. Weiss was the first to look up, and she noticed that they also had the same reaction as she did.
"I'm assuming you guys got the same message, seeing as how we have the same reaction?" Weiss asked, grabbing the attention of the others.
"If the title of the message said, 'Invitation to a movie marathon' and the messenger's name is 'Unknown Messenger', then yeah," Yang answered.
"Yep," Ruby said, popping the 'p', while Blake simply nodded.
The team read the message in silence. After they finished reading, they looked up from their scrolls with confused looks on their faces.
"I don't trust this." Blake said.
"What, the messenger, or the message?" Weiss asked.
"Both," Blake stated.
"But they said that they are holding a movie marathon in the student lounge," Ruby said. "You don't trust a student or teacher to hold a movie marathon?"
"No," Blake responded. "It's just that the messenger is unknown, making this suspicious. Not only that, if it was a student hosting this movie marathon, they would ask us in person, and if it was a staff member of Beacon, then their name would shown, letting us know who the messenger is and who is hosting this event."
"Even if we don't know who sent it, the fact that they are hosting this within Beacon says that they must be either a student or a faculty member." Weiss countered.
"And it's not like we got anything better to do," Yang added.
"Okay, so it's settled, then!" Ruby said. "three votes to one! Let's go!"
"What?" Weiss and Blake said in unison, not understanding what Ruby said.
"Blake," Yang answered for Ruby, "You said that you didn't trust this message, which means that you aren't going. Weiss, you said that you did trust this message, which means that you're going, right?"
The named duo were about to say something, but then they stopped and thought about what Yang said.
"Alright, I guess I'm going," Blake replied. "I just hope that my suspicions aren't correct."
"I'm going as well," said Weiss. "I don't have much schoolwork to do anyways, and I can just finish them after the marathon."
"Alright, movie marathon, here we come!" Yang shouted.
Suddenly, an explosion akin to a flashbang appeared out of nowhere, temporarily blinding and deafening the team. When they came to, they found themselves in a movie theater lobby.
"Even if I didn't trust the message," Blake said, still feeling the effects of a flashbang, "I didn't expect to be teleported to a random movie theater."
The team soon found out that Team JNPR was also there, with Jaune expelling his stomach contents.
"Hey there, Vomit Boy!" Yang exclaimed. Glad to see you live up to your nickname!"
"It's not my faul-" Jaune was about to counter, but then he felt the urge to reverse the digestive process. Luckily for him, nothing came of it. "It's not my fault that something worse than being stuck on a bullhead for hours made me puke!" Lady luck then decided to curse him for her entertainment, and Jaune's vomit was milked dry from him.
"So how did you guys get here?" Weiss questioned JNPR.
"Well, we recieved an invitation to a movie marathon in the student lounge, and after we all agreed to go, a bright flash of light suddenly appeared, and the next thing we knew, here we are," Pyrrha explained.
"It felt like I was tossed around for hours in mere seconds," Jaune said after he was finished being a vomit waterfall.
"Hey, we recieved an invitation to a movie marathon, as well!" Yang exclaimed, ignoring Jaune's justification for his vomiting.
Shortly after Yang had spoken, another flash of light appeared, revealing Ozpin, Goodwitch, Port, and Oobleck, who were also apparently dazed by the same flashbang-like explosion.
"Ozpin?/Goodwitch?/Professor Port?/Professor Oobleck?" Ruby, Weiss, Pyrrha, and Blake said in surprise, respectively and one after another.
After the Beacon staff members recovered from their daze, another flash of light appeared, and out came Winter Schnee and General Ironwood, also dazed by the flashbang explosion. Shortly afterward, yet another flash of light appeared, revealing a dazed Adam, Sienna Khan, and Ilia, the latter two apparently less dazed.
"YOU FUCKIN' PIECES OF SHIT!" Adam exclaimed in rage while covering his eyes with his left arm, surprising everyone. "Fuck me, this hurts like hell!"
After recovering from his daze, Adam looked around and noticed that everyone except for the other two White Fang members was staring at him. "What are you all-" Adam was about to finish, but then he noticed the two Schnees and charged into the Schnees with his sword out. "You Schnees will die by my hand!"
"Adam, wait!" Blake said in a panicked manner as Winter got in front of Weiss and pulled out her sword.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" a loud and booming voice yelled, scaring everyone and stopping Adam in his tracks. "You guys came here for a reason, and having you fight each other will only hamper my plan," the voice said in a more normal fashion.
Ozpin was suspicious of the disembodied voice. "Who are you, and what 'plan' do you have for us?"
"Me?" the voice said. "I am what you guys call God. The world. The universe. The truth. I am everything, and I am you. Nah, I'm just kidding. I go by many names, but the name I use is most often is 'Yirash'. The plan that I have for you guys is for you to watch alternate versions of yourselves."
"Alternate versions? What do you mean?" Oobleck asked.
"You will watch yourselves in alternate universes," Yirash said, "and since you guys are in the main lobby, I think you guys should grab some snacks. Oh, I forgot to tell you guys. From now on, you guys are unable to harm each other. That goes especially for you, Adam."
"What? Why am I singled out?!" Adam yelled.
"Because you had hostile intentions against the Schnees and enacted on those intentions. Now then, without further ado, grab whatever snacks you can and enter the auditorium, we got some alternate universes to watch. "
Before anyone else was able to ask Yirash more questions, they felt that someone had left them, that person being Yirash.
"Well, this should be interesting!" Port said after laughing boisterously.
"That I can agree with, Professor Port," Ozpin said, instinctively making a drinking motion before he realized that he didn't have his favorite mug and drink with him.
Closing AN: While editing this chapter, I initially wanted to have Adam and Blake argue about the reason why Blake left the White Fang, but then I realized that it felt like it was too angsty and that there was conflict for the sake of conflict, when I intended the fanfic to be lighthearted. As stated in the first opening AN, critique is always accepted you guys can suggest what should RWBY & co. react to. However, there are a few rules that you should follow.
1) Just because a rule isn't explained further doesn't mean that I intentionally left loopholes in said rule, I either didn't bother to explain it or I will clarify it later.
1a) The former reason will probably be the most common reason, either due to common sense or lazyness.
2) If there is a world I want the RWBY gang to react to, but someone had already done it in their RWBY react fanfic, or if someone told me that they or someone else they had already done it, then I won't bother writing it.
2a) The two exceptions to this is if the other react fanfic hasn't been updated in three months or more or people want the reactions anyways. If the other react fic is six months old or more, then I won't even bother to check.
2b) If people want the reactions to something that's already done, then I'll ask the author who did the reaction first for permission. If they allow it, then I'll create a poll.
2c) If you or someone you know is writing a RWBY react fic and you or they have an idea that's the same as mine, then pm me. If the character changes and reactions are similar enough, I will cancel my idea if you ask to do so.
3) Suggestions that I am familiar with and/or enjoy will take priority, but that doesn't mean that I won't consider them.
4) Youtube requests, will be more scrutinized than other requests, so don't expect them to appear on the user suggestions list.
4a) If they are accepted, don't expect them to be more than one-shots, if what you suggested is a series.
5) I don't and won't write reactions to any fanfic, period.
6) Historical figures might not be replaced by a RWBY character.
6a) The exception to the rule above is if the fictional portrail is more famous than the actual historical figure.
6b) Another execption to this rule is if the historical figure is only referenced in the work of fiction you are suggesting.
6c) This rule and the previous addendums are more like suggestions than actual rules.
Current rules might be expanded and/or changed and new rules might be added, but the original idea behind them will never be deleted.
