A name is more important than mortals realise. To not have a name is to not have a personality, to become a shadow, some feral creature. One without a name cannot be an individual. They are only what their surroundings make them. They are powerless.

But you named me. You, with your bright eyes and silvery laugh. You gave me something I'd lost over three millennia ago
