Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, alright?

A/N: Don't ask where this came from. It just popped into being when I was staring at a blank page on Word.

Dumbledore had always said that he never knew love; he never understood what it meant. Dumbledore was wrong. Voldemort knew what love was, he knew what it meant, what it could do. He just couldn't feel it. He could see it everywhere. He could see the love for him that shone in Bellatrix's eyes, he saw the love Lily Potter had felt for her son when she stepped in front of him to stop Harry Potter from being murdered.

Tom Riddle saw love, even wanted love, but couldn't feel it.
