Clary pushed through the doors of the institute. Going to the institute around the afternoon had become a regular practice for her after the war. As she walked through the narrow corridors she thought to herself how quickly she had become familiar with the interiors of the institute.

"Izzy, I'm fine. Stop forcing me to rest. What I really need is some training, so will you please-"

Jace's jaw dropped slightly by the sight of Clary. His heart always seemed to skip a beat on seeing her. She was beautiful. He loved that she didn't care much about the way she looked. Unlike Izzy, clary wasn't aware that she was beautiful and never tried to please anyone much by her looks. She was effortlessly gorgeous.

Clary saw her boyfriend standing in the kitchen. His regular look of jeans and a black shirt was replaced by an oversized grey sweatshirt and pajamas. His hair shagged over his face. His eyes were baggy and were surrounded by black circles. It was evident that he was forcing his eyes to stay open.

"Clary! I have been calling you since forever." Izzy said, almost exasperated.

"Sorry Izz, I got a little caught up at home." Said clary, not taking her eyes of Jace.

"Well better late than never. Clary I need you to take care of your sick boyfriend. He needs rest. I got to go for a date, I'll see you in three hours?" And with that she zoomed out of the kitchen.

"Bye."

"Hey."

"Hey." Clary said, "You're sick?" she asked sweetly.

"A bit" Jace replied hesitantly. Jace hated being sick but he hated showing his weakness to people even more than that. But around clary, he had learnt that it was alright to let his guard down. Clary was the only one who Jace would share his true feelings with.

She cocked an eyebrow, smiled sweetly and gently pushed him into his room.

Jace collapsed on the bed with a thud. His head landed between the two pillows. Clary sat beside him.

"Clary" He groaned," my head hurts."

"Come here". Clary moved towards Jace, sat cross legged and gently patted on her thighs.

And like a child unable to speak, Jace nodded. He wriggled towards Clary made himself comfortable. Clary caressed her fingers soothingly across Jace's face, occasionally massaging his forehead lovingly. His skin felt hot under her fingers.

"Better?"

"Much better."

Clary smiled sweetly.

Jace got up suddenly and started coughing violently. Clary sat beside him and rubbed soothing circles on his back until his coughing fit rested.

"Wait here. Ill get some something for your cough." Clary told Jace.

She went to the kitchen and opened the cupboard where she knew the lightwoods kept their medical supplies. She grabbed the bottle that read Relief from cough and cold and raced towards Jace's room.

Jace lay still on his bed. Even in his sickness he still looked good. Jace truly was her golden god. Clary gently shook Jace wake.

"Babe, can you sit up straight? You need to drink this." She said sweetly.

Jace got up and slowly drank the syrup. He frowned at the bad taste. Clary laughed lightly.

"You need rest, go to sleep Jace."

"Okay" Jace said, "You're bossy." He smirked.

Clary smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too."
