Small snow flakes drifted down on the parking lot of the store as the employee right inside the door slipped her gloves on. Sighing lightly she walked out into the cold going to pick up the random baskets that people never seem to bring back. Sure she didn't mind going out since it was a break from the endless questions that people ask, especially around the holidays.
The holidays at the store were nearly the worst, you would think after living though the zombie apocalypse would make people be less annoying. Maybe going through something like that would make people realize that they shouldn't be so mean to the fellow man.
Grabbing one of the baskets she had to pull it for a good few minutes to get it loose from the ice. After it was out she let out another sigh and looked around the parking lot at the barrage of cars that were there. Most of the cars that were there, their occupants were either already inside the store or they were fixing to leave. One SUV however had just pulled up and an older man in a light tan coat and white pants got out.
Watching him, he went into the store and snagged a basket real quick and came back out, putting the basket next to the car. The man opened the back door of the car and leaned in and messed with something for a moment. When he pulled back out, he had a child in his arms that looked to be about two maybe three.
As he was strapping the young one into the basket, another male appeared from the other side of the car. He was wearing a black coat and jeans, with a white and blue trucker hat on his head.
"Nick, ya always ferget Nicky's hat," The man said, his southern drawl floating over to where she was standing, as he slipped a base ball hat on 'Nicky's' head.
"Well I wouldn't if I didn't hate those hat's so much, Ellis he needs a real winter hat," Nick said.
Ellis just kind of rolled his eyes at the older male. "Ah will tell ya this, ah went through my entire childhood wearing nothing but that kind of hat,"
"You grew up in Savannah, there isn't snow there in the winter," Nick said, but smiled as Nicky grabbed his hand and smiled at him.
"Ok ok munchkin, daddies aren't going to fight anymore," Nick said, giving the kid a kiss on the head.
"Ya'll don't mean that," Ellis said, looking up at him.
"In front of Nicky I do and we can try," Nick smiled lightly, grabbing Ellis's hat off his head and bringing his arm around Ellis's neck to give him a kiss.
The younger male relaxed into it, giving the older male a squeeze before pulling back and grabbing his hat.
"Ah love you Nick," Ellis smiled.
"I love you too, now lets get out of the cold," And the two headed into the store.
The worker smiled brightly and wiped at the moisture that was pooling under her eyes. Maybe there was some hope for the holidays after all.

Why yes this is really late to be a Christmas fic, but I needed some fluff to make myself feel better.
This came from a day me and my aunt were out shopping and it was getting late. I saw a male putting his little boy in the shopping cart and his wife came around and put a baseball cap on the boys head, then kind of hugged her husband.
And for some reason it brought a smile to my face and made me think of Nellis ^^
I hope you like it
Valve owns the boys.
