Author's Note:
I'll say it here - Thanks very, very much to the guest reviewers for my story 'Remember?' *-*
"Have we not been here before?" is not meant geographically so, in this poem here, which is from Loki's perspective.
I was in an odd and hectic kind of mood when I wrote and post this, but I hope you enjoy it anyway ^.^
I was never the one to stumble lost,
Wander worlds and eyes of frost.
I read all maps behind all masks,
But now I find I have to ask,
Because of all landmarks I saw,
The fading footprints on the floor,
Have we not been here before?
My silver words break crumbling towns,
Turn heroes gold and bumbling around,
But it's still my world that's tumbling down
Though I never wanted that lofty crown,
Only ever wanted not even more
Than our matching steps along the floor,
But you still don't see, and you never saw,
So have we not been here before?
Happy ending's gates will wait for you,
I know they'll shut, once you are through,
And lock me out, they always do,
To wait in the dark, the cold, the blue.
But I've always known how to enter too;
Side by side, my pace with you,
We only needed to walk as two,
Our feet in time, you and I, true.
We could have been the same,
No matter my blue,
Then you may or may not hold those doors for two;
"You are coming with me, aren't you?"
And allow me in? Let me through?
But whatever you decide to hold it for,
I swear I'll still see you through the door,
That's what a travelling companion is for.
"Yes, of course"
We've been here before
