Lets just say, my life isn't the greatest. Now I'm not going to say that its the worst, because everyone has there ups and downs. I'm not "normal" as everyone thinks me to be. Now while I'm at school, I'm just that "kid" that no one sees. Like a ghost that cant be seen. Well, almost no one sees me.
Peter Parker, best friend since middle school. He's the normal one. Top of all of his classes, next to the only person I want to notice me. Sure Parker is normal, but he is fun to be around.
Then there's Flash Tompson, the bully. He likes picking on Parker and I, mostly me as we live in the same building. Being target number one, is not fun.
Now I'm sure your all wondering about who I want to notice me, and that is one Gwen Stacy. She is my first friend, even going back as far as pre-school. She is amazing, smart, beautiful, she's practically my everything. Yet, that's not the case, as she has a thing for Parker, who has a thing for her bus isn't making a move on her as he knows I have a thing for her and I cant make a move because I'm stuck in the friend zone with Gwen.
Lets actually get to the story, after I tell you about my history. See, I grew up in the dumps, my mother was a prostitute, and every night she would leave me in our little shack. When I was seven, my mom was killed for money. When the police took me in, they sent me to my father, who lived in New York as a scrapper.
Some would say that this is a good end, but it got worse. Every night, my father would come home drunk and beat the living shit out of me, for no reason. My safe place was my closet, there I always felt safe. About a month of living with him, I met a girl on the roof, one Gwen Stacy. I planed on jumping that night, to escape the pain, to escape the suffering.
She saved me from my damnation. Every night, for the past few weeks, I would sit up there, and she would join me. When school started, I met Parker in middle school. We would talk about science and Gwen would even get into it, only to prove she's smatter than us. It was also, the beginning of our crush's for her and her crush for Parker.
One day this kid came up to Parker and I and started beating the crap out of us, only for Gwen to save us with her father. We later learned that the kids name was Flash Tompson, and to stay away from him. Mr. Stacy took us home that day, and I received an can of whoop ass for not being stronger than Flash, even going as far as to call Flash the perfect son he never had, without even meeting him.
So that was basically my entire life, hanging out with Parker and Gwen, beat up by Flash and my father. That was, for ten years.
Now, onto the actual story.
Home
Opening my eyes, I rolled to a standing point and pushed my self off the floor. Walking over to the closet, I took my clothe out and started getting ready for school. Picking my bag up, I slowly opened the door, where I looked down the hall way at the living room, the only exit. Seeing the TV on, I started walking as fast as I could to the door. Entering the living room, I made my way to the door and grabbed my skate board and drum sticks off the counter and quickly exited the building.
Dropping my board, I pushed off, skating over to the elevator. Pressing the button, I watched as the doors opened, followed by a loud bang from behind me. Turning around quickly, I stared at my father as he glared at me. "GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE BOY!?" He yelled, holding a metal bat in his hand. entering the elevator, I hit the first floor and waved at him as he made a run for it.
Once the doors closed, I leaned back and let out a sigh. They opened again, this time two others walked in. "Dakota." The man said as he walked in, with me sitting up right.
"Flash." I said, slicking my hair out of my face. He shoved me, with the other guy laughing. He wrapped his arm around my neck and started squeezing. 'Every day.' I thought as he stuck my face in his armpit. I held my breath as they laughed at me. Once the doors opened, I shoved him away, tossed my board down and started skating out the lobby as they chased me. Exiting the doors, I quickly turned to the left, heading straight to school.
Later, school
Walking into class, I spotted Peter in the back of class looking at Gwen. Walking over to him, I patted him on the back and sat next to him as she sat up at the front. "Hey." He said, fixing his glasses that had moved once I had patted him on the back. "Osscorp is having this internship opening up today, want to head over after school?" he asked, with me sighing.
"Sorry, I have band practice." I said, with him nodding. "Take Gwen, she's actually been wanting to go there for a while." I said, with him nodding.
"Sure, I'll do that." He said, looking back at Gwen, and me doing the same thing, seeing her looking back at us with a smile, making us smile at her. "You want to tell her?" He asked, with me shacking my head at him.
"No, you do it, you two barley talk." I said as I looked at him, then leaned back as soon as the teacher walked in.
Later, after band
"Good work every body, see you all tomorrow after school." Our band teacher said, with me nodding as I put one of the drums back where it belonged, placing the drum sticks in my pocket. Walking over to my board, I stopped once I saw it was snapped in half. "Not again." I said, looking out side at Flash as he and his friends were laughing. Shacking my head, I grabbed the board and looked at half's halves. Standing up, I made my way out the door.
As soon as I got outside, Flash and his friends started chasing me. I ran as fast as I could, where I then ended up bumping into someone. As I hit the ground, I looked at him, and him at me. Standing up, he helped me to my feet and I saw his eyes widen. Looking behind me, I saw Flash and his friends standing there. "How would you like a job?" He asked, with me looking at him like he was crazy. "Pays two thousand a month, five days a week only an hour or two." He said, shocking me.
"Why would you like ghost boy for?" Flash asked, with him smiling at Flash.
"Because I see greatness in him." He said, with me backing up. "What do you say, want to work at A.I.M?" He asked, confusing me.
"What's-"
"Its a special corporation meant for the brightest of the brightest, even Tony Stark visits from time to time." He said, shocking me.
Now, Tony Stark is my idol of the leading science division. When he reviled that he was Iron-Man, it shocked me that my idol was a hero. "Hell ya I'll join, but, I'm not sure if my-"
"That wont be necessary." The man said, reaching into his pocket and pulled out a gun, shocking me. He shot me in the chest, with me flying back and hitting the pavement. Hearing Flash and the others run, I could do nothing but stair at him in fear. "Today, you no longer exist." He said, reaching for my drum sticks and tossing them aside.
Later, unknown location
"Son of a bitch!" I yelled, holding my chest that was now healed somehow. "How am I alive!?" I questioned as I looked around, seeing computers and other items around, each of them looked high teck, nothing I had ever seen before. Looking at my arm, I saw that I was attached to a machine like thing. Looking at my wrist, I had a brace on it. Leaning my hand back, a blade popped out, shocking me. It sunk back in once I relaxed my arm.
"This is project Creed." I heard, with me looking at the same man who had shot me. "Test trills begin, now." He said, with me taking notice to a purple liquid pouring down tubes. Following the tubes, I saw they they lead into a single tube into the back of my neck. Reaching for it, I found that I couldn't, only to scream once it entered as I saw nothing but bright lights to black lights flashing at once.
Paris, 1793
I stood on a building, looking down at a group of people. 'Where am I?' I thought as I knelt down. 'Why don't I have control over my body?' I thought as I looked around, seeing a fat man walk into what I thing was a church, then over to a man talking to the guards and a group of people that had stole some keys. 'This isn't me.' I thought as I slid down the building and made my way after the man who was talking to the guards.
"I have to talk to Manashui after this." The man said as I entered the crowd. I could hear him over all of the people, like I wasn't even lessoning to them, like they weren't even there. He walked away, with me climbing a building with great skill, not slipping once. In a matter of seconds. Reaching the top, I walked over to the side and jumped off onto a plank then descended onto a cart and watched as the man continued walking.
'I don't understand what's going on, why cant I talk?' I thought as I walked around a wall of grass, then followed him over to a well. I hid behind a barrel and waited. Once a priest of old walked up to him, I looked over the slid a bit, not to much, but enough to see his face.
"Manashui will be in the east cathedral, he will be waiting for you to tell him what he wants to know." He said, with him nodding. After that, they started walking away. I tossed a smoke bomb, confusing me on what was going on. Standing up, I walked over to the smoke and stabbed the man with the hidden blade on my arm, the same kind that I had seen on my very arm.
'Oh god I just killed someone, I just killed someone!?' I thought as all around me started flashing red. I wanted this to end, but I just simply walked away. 'What's happening, why is this happening?!' I yelled in my head.
"Calm down, every things alright!" I heard the mans voice, with me feeling anger.
'This is your fault, you made me do it, he didn't need to-'
"Everything your seeing is a memory from your past self. A you from a long time ago." He said, confusing me.
'A me from a long time ago?' I thought as I walked over to a rope, cut it and flew to the top window, only to find it locked. 'How?' I thought as I started climbing once more, this time reaching the very top and sliding down the other side until I hit a pillar and then swung my self around to where I was standing on a gargoyle.
"This is a test to see if we can connect with the souls past, to see what the soul can see." He said, with me calming down as I started climbing down and everything going back to normal.
'So, I killed him, a long time ago?' I thought as I entered another building through the roof and made my way down stairs, only to stop as I saw the same group of people who had stolen the keys. I swiped the keys away without him knowing and made my way back up. Running, I jumped on the window and jumped down, where I then ran over to the church and started to climb in. Once I reached the window, I opened it and made my way up to a guard and killed him by snapping his neck, with everything going red again. It didn't last long, as I had calmed my self down, but I felt sick.
Running across a rope, I jumped at another guard and broke his neck with his fall. Reaching the ledge, I jumped off, with me screaming as I fell. Landing in a pile of hay, I jumped out and walked through the crowd like nothing had happened. 'How can no one notice this?' I thought as I walked over to another pile of hay and jumped in.
After a few moments, I heard a guard. Reaching out, I stabbed him in the side of the head and pulled him in, where I then jumped out and followed after the fat man. Seeing him enter a confessional, I entered the other side.
"Is it done?" He asked as I sat down.
"Yes Manashui." I answered as I readied my weapon.
"What is the percentage?" He asked, with me thinking up of a random percentage.
"Thirty percent." I answer, and it seamed he liked that answer.
"Good, then we're done?" He asked, with me shoving my hand through and stabbing him, with everything going red once more. Exiting the confessional, I tossed down a smoke bomb and ran past a guard, killing him and making my way towards the back. Once I reached the back, I walked past the guards once there backs were turned, with me pushing in a block and opening a hidden passage. Entering it, I found my self in the swears and made a run for it.
End program
Opening my eyes, I blinked as I found my self back in the machine with the man in front of me. "How are you feeling?" He asked, with me glaring at him.
"Let me go!?" I yelled as I tried to move, but couldn't.
"You belong to us now, the people at Hydra will use you to become greater, to learn of the so called "dead creed" to resurrect it, to-"
"I don't care, I just want to go home!?" I yelled, with him looking off to the side, with a women walking up to us, half of her face was burnt off, showing bone and muscle.
"What home?" She asked, confusing me. "You are the son of a dunk man who wanted nothing to do with you, he beat you every day. Your friend Peter may of worried about you, but after a few days he forgot about you." She said, shocking me.
"How long have I been here?" I asked, looking at her.
"Five months." She said, with my eyes widening. "They don't miss you, you were nothing but a waist there." The man said, with me lowering my head. "Here, you could benefit the future. You could help us create something new, something beautiful." He said with a smile.
"Death." I said, looking up at him. "What you are looking for, is death." I said, with him shacking his head.
"No, not death. Unity, power, control." He said, grabbing the sides of my head. "With you, your very soul, we can achieve greatness." He said, with me glairing at him.
"How long were you watching me?" I asked, with him backing away.
"A couple of years, but we had to be sure that you were the right one, and we-"
"You're going to kill me once this is over, arnt you?" I asked, with him nodding.
"Most likely, or erase your memories and imprint new ones." He said as he put his hands behind his back and turned away.
'Its my soul, and if its connected to my past, then I should be able to get it connected to the present time.' I thought, before shacking that thought out as that sounded stupid. "How are they, Peter and Gwen?" I asked, with him looking over his shoulder as the women was writing things down as she examined the machine.
"Gwen has joined band, being a drummer, much like you. Peter, he was killed." He said, shocking me. "The culprit was a women who somehow gained spider powers. She calls her self, Spider-Women." He said, with me gritting my teeth.
"I want to make a deal." I said, confusing him as he fully faced me now. "I do this, no resisting, you let me go so I can kill this Spider-Women." I said, with him thinking about it as the women turned to face him as she also thought about it.
"There has been times when she has intervened with our plans, you have deal." He said, with me nodding. "For now, you will be taken to your medical room, there you will sleep and get your self checked up." He said, with the machine letting me go. Landing on the ground, I stood up and looked at the machine, seeing that the tube was no longer attached. Holding the back of my neck, I felt a chip of some kind. "Its connected to your nervous system, don't mess with it or you could die, we're not entirely sure." He said as I followed the women.
Later, room
Sitting in the middle of the floor, I had my legs crossed my hands on my knees. I don't know why I was doing it, but I had a strong feeling that I should start meditating. I had been in this position for hours, and I could hear nothing but silence. Of course I'm in a sound proof room, with cameras in every corner, making it where there were no blind spots. The control panel on the door was a new teck I hand never seen before. There was a needle where the hand print was and once the hand hits it the needle shoots out and stabs one of the fingers, randomly as I had saw once we went in and out a few times for bathroom.
Hearing steps, I stood up and walked over to the glass, with me seeing the same man that I was, staring back at me. He walked through the glass, shocking me as I took a step back. He didn't say anything, but continued to walk up to me. His eyes were narrowed, with me narrowing my eyes back. Seeing him throw his fist out, I blocked it, but something told me he was holding back as I moved his hand away. Ducking under another punch, I tripped him with my arm, only for him to flip and land on his feet and kick at me, with me blocking it with both my arms.
Jumping up, I turned around and kicked at him, with my eyes widening as to how high I had just jump kicked. Normally I could get up to Parker's chin, but now I was at head level. He ducked under the kick and we started attacking and blocking both of our attacks, neither of us hitting the other. Seeing him kick at me like how I kicked at him, I ducked and swung under his leg, only to block another kick from him and continue.
"Seeing the ghosts now are we?" I heard, with me looking back at the door to see the man there. Looking back at the man I was just fighting, I saw him missing. Looking back, I saw the man with his arms crossed. "Its one of the side affects, but yours appeared sooner than most." He said, thinking about it.
"I'm...learning." I said, looking at my hands. "I'm going to continue with this, I feel that I need to." I said as I looked at him.
He nodded and exited the room. "We'll have you use the same weapons as him, in due time." He said, with me nodding. Looking at the glass I saw him standing next to my reflection, giving me a nod before walking away.
