Fly Away

"Kat--"

"Aang, I--"

The awkwardness of the moment was almost funny. They had known each other and talked to each other since the day they met; and yet, at the moment when it all mattered the most, it all became near uncomfortable as they each tried to speak their mind.

"You go first..." Aang said politely.

"We've been through so much together. And, I've seen you grow up so much. You're not that goofy little kid I found in the iceberg anymore..." She saw Aang's eyes looked to the side, blushing as he recalled fond, now near distant memories.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is," she continued, I'm really proud of you." She wanted to say more, but she couldn't find the words...

Looking up at her, he spoke, "Everything's going to be different now, isn't it?"

"Yes, it is..." she said, pulling her hair back. It kept on falling past her ear though, which made it hard for her to think.

"What if..." Aang said, staring at the ground, and Katara sensed he had come to the real reason he had wanted to say something..."What if I don't come back?"

"Aang, don't say that, of course you'll come b—"...she didn't get the chance to finish...

If I could fly away...

Shocked, she tensed up in surprise as he pulled her into a kiss. When she saw who it was however, she loosened up and let him go on. She realized sometimes words just didn't say it all...

Ooh, and I didn't come back no more, I—

He was so close, and she melted in his hot, breathy lips. Time seemed to nearly stop, yet her heart beat faster than it ever had before. She wanted absolutely nothing more than a moment like this. It was almost as if they were in heaven.

I'd turn around, just to see you for the last time.

He came out gently, and she looked at him, almost expressing her loss of his skin no longer against hers. The world swam back into focus, and she saw Aang stand out in the center of it. Aang...
See now I know, Hey, that it won't be easy

Looking at her with grim determination, as if all it took was a kiss to ready him to face the Fire Lord, he opened his glider, and with a whirlwind of air, flew off West.

I demn fought in the battle, and I made it this far

She stared at him, blushing as she watched him fly away. Knowing he would keep on flying, she still desperately hoped he would come down to her again. But he kept on flying. Sending a prayer for him, she knew if...no, when he reutrned--

Got a few more feet

She would be right here.

But it's still the longest yard.

Extremely short, I know. I'm much too lazy, unfortunately. I was thinking of this song when that bit played come 2nd time 'round, so I decided, 'hey, why not do a songfic?' turned out to be a chorus-fic. 'Tis me own version of the Kataang kiss.

And if I can get the ounce of un-laziness to type it, I'll do a rather interesting story of Tokka during that time...hehehe...hey, did anyone notice Appa was staring at them the whole F'n time?!?! Sheesh! Can't get a lil privacy? He was there in the Cave too!
Y'know, I've just realized That I "basically" used sev'ral song titles hidden in there...see if you can get 'em! (5, minus the obvious "Fly Away"...go figg I'd turn summit like this into a game...)
Ooh, Hey! How'dja like that bit o' foreshadowing in the beginning, huh?
