Prologue
"Don't worry Asuma-Sensei! Just hang on a little longer!" Shikamaru said rapidly dragging Asuma on his shoulder through Konoha. He reached a hospital and rushed in. The medics were already waiting for them. They brought in a stretcher for Asuma to lie on. The medics took Asuma into an emergency room. Shikamaru could only watch as they took Asuma away.
*3 Hours Later*
Shikamaru paced the floors of the lobby in the hospital. One of the medics came out of the emergency room. Shikamaru quickly dashed at him and asked if Asuma was going to be ok. "He'll be fine. He just needs some rest." The doctor said. Shikamaru sighed in relief. Shikamaru turned towards Kuranai who sitting at one of the chairs. She gave gentle smile of satisfaction and put her hand on her gentle stomach. Her pregnancy was already showing. And that's how it all started.
A couple months later Kuranai had her kid. She had a healthy baby boy. Since Shikamaru saved Asuma's life, they let Shikamaru name him. "How bout' Genkei… Genkeimaru." Shikamaru said. The couple smiled to the wonderful name Shikamaru gave him. Asuma was nervous about raising a son, but through the years he enjoyed it. But then came the raid. When Genkei was 16 an incident happened… the sound raided the Leaf Village. Many died, many were wounded, but the leaf village were able to hold them back. Asuma gravely wounded but Kuranai died. It was hard on both of them but somehow got through it. Now it was just Asuma and Genkei. Alone…
