Today is just an ordinary day
I wake up in bed
Out my window, I see right across the way
A light so bright and far away
It keeps on flashing, it is trying to give me a sign
All I need to do is step outside and find…
The Green Light across the way
It holds my hopes and dreams
I know my destiny is far away
I need to reach out in the sky so blue
Then my hopes and dreams will come true
I walked out my door
Onto this busy street
I saw a light, the same one as before
But to my surprise, it was only a traffic light
I fell short of finding
The Green Light across the way

I continued to walk down this road
A glimpse of something caught my eye
It was the light I was searching for
It was on the other side
I ran across this road, surprised at what I did find
I found that my light was coming from
A man that I surely know
I knew him all along, but I did not see
That my light was standing right in front of me
I reached out and he took my hand
He asked me to come along
This dream of mine became so real
My hopes and dreams came true when
I reached for my Green Light
When I found who it came from, I was so relieved
I found what I was looking for all my life
I saw it right in front of me
It was hard to believe
Today is just an ordinary day

Next to the one with the Green Light of mine
That will always continue to shine
To remind me each and every day
