What Took You So Long?
I watched him, sitting in the common room in a big fluffy chair doing homework. Typical. Friday night and Moony was doing his homework.
"Hmm," I hummed, letting my mind wonder. Moony was one of my best friends, next to James. We all have gone through some rough times together and I couldn't help but see them as my brothers, until now. James would always be my brother, but Moony… with Moony it had changed. He was quiet and humble, even though he as the smartest kindest person anyone could ever know. He was also the strongest. Every full moon he had to go through a transformation and come back as soon as possible, so no one would get suspicious. And… somewhere between helping him through these difficult times and teasing him for being a nerd… I had fallen in love with him…
"Sirius?" I looked up to find Remus looking at me. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah Moony, just wonderin' why your doing homework on a Friday!" I gave him a lopsided smile.
He rolled his eyes. "I'd rather do it now then have to spend all of Sunday doing it, unlike SOME people."
"Eh. I've got people to do, things to see." I gave a saucy smile. Remus gave me a disgusted look, though… I'm sure I saw something in his eyes… hurt maybe? Nah, I must be seeing things, looking for something that isn't there. "Bye Remy."
"Bye," he murmured, and I walked out of the Gryffindor common rooms, out into the main hall.
Back a little- Remus POV
"Eh. I've got people to do, things to see." He gave a saucy smile. I felt hurt, but covered it up by throwing him a disgusted look. "Bye Remy."
"Bye," I murmured as he walked out of Gryffindor tower.
I sat back with a sigh. Sirius- Padfoot- was one of my best friends. He was so strong and so gorgeous, that I couldn't help but fall for him; not like those girls that giggle over every little thing he does, but in a real way. I had seen sides of Sirius that no one had ever seen, and I could help but wonder how I could be friends with someone as wonderful as Sirius. I loved him, that's for sure, but I knew he would never love me.
I rubbed my eyes, "As if he'd even consider you; he's straight Moony, get over it."
Sirius POV
"Bye." I whispered after kissing Angelina goodbye. She was a sixth year, and I couldn't help but wonder as she walked up the girls' dormitory steps giggling, how it would feel to kiss Remus.
"Sirius." It was Moony; he was looking at me, obviously nervous.
"What's up Moony?"
"C-…Can I talk to you?" Moony didn't even wait for me to respond, dragging me off to the boys' dormitory.
We were alone, and Moony was looking down at his feet blushing… "Mo--"
switch to Remus POV
"Mo--" Oh God. I launched myself at Sirius, kissing him hard on the lips. Bite growled and gently nipped at his bottom lip, delighted when he moaned and open his mouth. We held onto each other, letting our feelings shine through our battling tongues.
We broke apart for a much-needed breath. Looking into each other's eyes, I couldn't help but wonder…
"What took you so long?" Sirius whispered, coming in for a kiss.
I smiled softly after we broke apart. "I love you too Sirius."
