Tori, the women giving me my aptitude test, gave me a reassuring smile as she pricked my skin with the needle. As my eyes fluttered closed she whispered something inaudible and my surroundings changed.

I stood in the middle of my normal school cafeteria, except the only difference was it was empty. I did a small 360 turn and two small pedestals were standing in front of me. In one pedestal a small dagger, and in the other a large piece or cheese. Mozzarella, maybe?

"Wait, this wasn't here a second ago…" I thought.

"Choose," a deep voice boomed throughout the room. I raised my eyebrows; this was just too cliché.

"Why?" I asked. Maybe if I do what I do best it'll go away. Yup, I'll definitely try to be annoying.

"Choose," The voice repeated, ignoring my question. I crossed my arms completely fed up.

"That's very rude of you," I teased with a small, breathy laugh.

"CHOOSE!" it yelled. I rolled my eyes and grabbed both.

"Ok then." I said kind of agitated, twirling my hair with the knife. A piece of my long, light brown hair fell to the floor and I stopped. Um..whoops.

I heard a deep growl and spun around quickly. I saw a large, furious Rottweiler running towards me so, I did what any other Amity would do. I threw the cheese. The dog stared at the food, sniffed it, and gobbled it up in one ginormous bite. I skipped over to it and scratched its head playfully. I knelt beside it and chuckled as it licked my cheek. I've always wanted a dog, but I already had a cat, so to keep the peace I wasn't allowed.

"Puppy!" I heard a child's sweet voice far away. I looked up and saw a little girl wearing a short red dress and pigtails. The dog lunged at the girl and I felt a wave of panic flood towards me. I quickly threw myself on the dog and scratched a nerve on its neck. It rolled on its back and I started to rub its belly. The scenery changed quickly and I felt myself bolt backwards.

I was about to fall but my hand bolted towards a pole and I pulled myself up. I looked around the bus and realized an old factionless sitting on a comfy looking seat, reading the newspaper. He glared at me and I gulped. He had a scar that ran across his right eye, probably making it blind in the process.

"Do you know this man?" He growled at me. I looked at the cover and saw my grandfather's picture. He doesn't need to know that though.

"Nope" I lied and shrugged. He raised his eyebrows and gave me a 'I know you do' look.

"You could save me" he said. Wait, it's a simulation. He couldn't hurt my grandfather and I could save him in the process. I slowly nodded. The scenery changed once more and all I could see was whiteness until my vision cleared once more. Now I was back inside the Aptitude Testing room.

Tori was staring at me in pure shock. I raised my eyebrows questioningly.

"You're Ademant" she said quickly.
