Time to start things off with the not so standard, standard disclaimer!
I, Nicole Elizabeth Kelly of -censored b/c of parents- own Harry Potter! Yes, yes, he's mine!
Harry-bound in chains and leather costume…no reason, just 'cause- HELP!
Me-smacks him over the head- Shaddap!
Harry: If I had my wand, I'd…
Me-grins- on with the fic!
My eyes wide, I raced into my sister's room and grabbed her cell phone.
"Can I borrow this? Thanks," I said and ran downstairs and out the back door.
"Ashley?" I asked after I'd dialed her number.
"Yeah?"
"Hold on, I'm dialing Will," A moment later we were all connected, and I was standing on the sidewalk.
"You'll never believe what happened!" I said excitedly.
"You won't believe what happened to me!" Ashley said.
Will made a sarcastic comment (which I promptly ignored) before he, too, admitted something strange had happened to him.
"Nani ka!" I asked in Japanese (which, I hate to admit, I had picked up from watching to much anime and reading to many anime fics).
"What?" Ashley asked, directing her comment at me.
"Exactly," I said, "OK, on the count of three we'll all say what happened to us."
"One,"
"Two,"
"Three,"
"I got a letter from Hogwarts!" We said.
"What? No way! This is awesome!" I said.
Will promptly disagreed. "This is weird," he said.
"I know," Ashley agreed, "I mean, Hogwarts, real?"
"But it's cool!" I said. "Guys, we get to meet Harry Potter!"
"I know, Nicole, it's just… weird!" Ashley said.
"What will we tell our them? And what about our parents?" Will asked.
Ignoring Will's unintentional pun, and Ashley's sudden outburst that her parents would never believe her, I answered. "We tell them that we're coming. We tell our parents it's a Boarding School in London we applied to earlier."
"But-" Ashley started.
"We'll ask Hogwarts to send an acceptance letter via muggle mail saying that we applied and were accepted. We'll explain that, unlike out parents, we're open to the idea of magic."
"What'll we do about money, though?" She asked.
"We need money to go abroad and we can exchange it in Gringotts."
"…You've thought about this before, haven't you?" Will asked.
I grinned, though he couldn't see it through the phone. "You bet!"
"Okay…" He said slowly.
"So we all set?" I asked.
"Maybe we should only write one letter," Ashley suggested.
My smile broadened as I finished signing my name with a flourish.
"Done," I said, "Wanna' hear it?"
"You've already written it?" She sounded amazed.
"Yup, as we were talking, all that's left is to type it up."
"Cool, so we're sending one letter?" Will asked.
"A 'course! Even used 'we' and everything! Why?"
"Just wondering."
"Wait…should I type it?"
"Business Letter format?" Ashley asked.
"Yup,"
"Type it, it'll look better,"
"Kay," I said, "We good?"
"We good."
"Bye,"
"Bye,"
"Bye,"
