Revenge Dress

Revenge was going to be her destruction.

Whether she won or lost
that dotted line of fate
had already been signed off
with her searing blood –

If only blood burnt through her pale skin as well
then the world would know

But they looked elsewhere now
and that blind spot afforded her the time
to plan, to prepare

But they'd look soon enough,
at the black hair and clothes
that weren't just for show
and the souvenir she picked up.

A mark across her face if she won,
death if she lost.
She was going to bow out either way.
