Title: Everything is Allowed When It's Us
Prompts:
"Are you coming, or what?"
"This was not how it was supposed to happen, you know that?"
"Forgive me for every little thing I've ever done to you, please."
"glorious"
"crystal"
"Why did I agree to this?"
"Remus, you agreed because you love us. Don't deny it."
Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and James Potter were out after hours, broken rule number one. They were outside after hours, broken rule number two. Lastly, just what was going through their minds was broken rule number three all in itself.
"Alright," James said, coming to the edge of the lake. "Moony, give me the buckets."
Remus grumbled but grudgingly agreed, pulling from his pocket three small cups which he enlarged.
The quickly filled their buckets and began the trudge back up to the castle. The snow shone like crystals on the frozen campus grounds. The walk was difficult with their heavy load, but the eventually made it to the Entrance Hall.
It was about 5 A.M. This meant they had about two hours to set this up and get back up to the common room before everyone else awoke.
Sirius levitated his bucket up and between the Slytherin and Ravenclaw tables. He did the same with James's, putting it between the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables. He turned to Remus.
"Moony the bucket if you would," he said, waving his arm in the general direction of the staff table.
"You guys are horrible to me," Remus said miserably, but levitated his bucket up over the staff table all the same.
"Oh," Sirius exclaimed dramatically. "Forgive me for every little thing I've ever done to you, please!"
"Not forgiven." Remus walked out of the Great Hall, pulling out the Marauders' Map. James and Sirius followed at his heels.
"This will be a glorious prank," James said as they made their way to Gryffindor Tower.
"The best we've ever done," Sirius agreed, nodding his head emphatically.
"You say that for every prank we do," Remus stated.
"This one's different," Sirius replied.
"You say that as well," Remus goaded.
"Moony," James whined.
"Whatever. We have ten minutes to get into our dormitory. Any later and Lily will be on us."
"Right," James and Sirius answered.
At seven-thirty, Sirius and James were ready to go down for breakfast. Remus stayed seated on his bed as the two walked out of the dormitory.
A couple seconds later, Sirius's head popped back in. "Are you coming, or what?"
"Fine," Remus removed himself from the warmth of the bed. He would have stayed, he probably shoud have, but he wasn't about to let his two friends down. He was the only one who knew the spell for the prank.
As soon as the food disappeared, the plan went into action. Remus chanted a spell to turn all water in the room into snow and then another to get the buckets spinning.
Snow flew everywhere around the Great Hall. Dumbledore could be seen chuckling and there were many squeals from the girls. The Slytherins looked peeved. James, Sirius, and Remus stood up on their benches to take a bow.
One lone screech could be heard over the others. The boys' heads snapped toward the sound of the screech, the staff table.
The source of the noise was a very disgruntled McGonagall. She was soaking wet.
"Whoops," Sirius said.
"This was not how it was supposed to happen, you know that?" Remus stated worriedly as McGonagall's eyes flashed towards the three.
"It's alright Moony," James stated. "Everything is allowed when it's us."
