Chapter 1: Unexpected Arrival
The bell of Wright & Co. Law Offices rang. "I'll get it!" called Pearl. "Pearly, wait!" Maya replied. "You know you're not supposed to open the office door!" Maya lectured.
"Yes, Mystic Maya..." sighed Pearl. She just wanted a day of "I'll do what I would like to do".
"HEY, PAL!" yelled a voice. Maya smiled, turned to Phoenix and rolled her eyes.
"Good morning, Detective Gumshoe." Phoenix smiled at Maya.
"You mustn't do that Detective, you'll scare Wright." Miles smirked.
"I wasn't scared! I was amused!" Phoenix countered.
"Whatever." Miles concluded that he couldn't break Phoenix.
"So... what brings you guys here today?" asked Maya.
"We're off duty, pal!" cheered Gumshoe.
"And...?" Maya knew this was going downhill.
"Well, we were wondering if you guys would like to the park for a picnic?" Gumshoe asked.
"Sorry, Dick, we've got a helluva mountain of paperwork..." Phoenix frowned, staring at the pile of work on his desk.
"Oh...," Gumshoe looked like he was going to cry. Edgeworth on the other hand, was sipping from a flask of Earl Grey.
"Wait!" Maya had an idea. "Why don't you go, Pearly?" smiled Maya.
"Really? Oh, could I Mr Gumshoe and Mr Edgeworth?"asked Pearl, making a puppy dog face.
"Aw,sure, little pal!" Gumshoe smiled.
A few minutes later, Pearl, Gumshoe and Edgeworth were in Edgeworth's Ferrari.
"Hear that purr, Detective?" he asked.
"Umm... don't cats purr?" asked Pearl.
"Yes, but cars purr too." answered Edgeworth.
"Does that make them animals?" she inquired again.
"Uhh... yes." Edgeworth stated.
"I'm going to call him Redd!" Pearl cried, and stroked the leather seat. "Good car!"
