I do not own Merlin. This is in Gwaine's Point Of View.
A Delicate Matter
By waterrain
What kind of man checks to see if someone is alive by using a sword? Does a person really use a sword to see if someone is alive? It doesn't make sense.
I suspected that Arthur's Uncle is the true traitor when he had his sword on Gaius neck. I really do not trust Agravaine and I'm trying to find out an answer to my question.
"What on earth are you doing, Gwaine?" Arthur asked sharply, his eyes looked irritated, and my sword was close to his neck. "And get your sword from my neck."
"Checking to see if you were alive or not." I replied causally and moved my sword away from him.
"What? What kind of idiot uses a sword to see if someone is alive? A person is suppose to check the neck with a hand not a sword! Honestly, Gwaine you can be such an idiot."
"Well, Your Uncle was doing that to Gaius."
"My Uncle does that to an enemy before slitting their throat." Arthur said slowly, he looked at me, and took a deep breath. "Gwaine are you positive that my Uncle had his sword near Gaius's neck."
"I have some Knightly duties to do so I'll be going now."
"Gwaine!"
"Yes, Your Uncle had his sword very near Gaius's neck. I'm not good at handling delicate matters such as the possibility of one's family member being a traitor." I commented to him before walking towards the door.
"Do you think my Uncle is the traitor?"
"It doesn't matter what I think at all. I'm just a Knight in not so shiny armor. A man once told me that at times people can become blind when their family is involved. Of course the man was drunk and had walked in with his wife having sex with his brother. He had thought his neighbors and friends were lying, but he had to see for himself if it was true for he didn't believe that his brother would do such a thing to him."
I walked out and closed the door. I'm not good at delicate matters and I really do not wish to be involved. I'm good at drinking ale, fighting, and a couple of other things. I'm not good when it comes to certain family problems and issues for some of those matters can be very very delicate.
"Gwaine, You are late." Leon informed me.
"I know, but the Princess…I mean Queen Arthura wanted to talk." I said causally and stretched my arms. Leon sighed, shook his head, and I grinned widely at him. "Don't you just love my sense of humor? Just put an a at the end of Arthur's name and you will get Arthura. A perfect name for a great Queen."
"Just go out and patrol. Don't patrol the Tavern." Leon informed me.
"I understand, Leona." I commented cheerfully and he shook his head. "I mean Sir Leona."
"Just go, Gwaine." Leon stated calmly and I nodded my head before walking away. When a person's family is involved in something at times a person turn a blind eye to it or remain in denial and disbelief unwilling to accept what is right in front of their face.
