Setting: Kennedy High
Lily bent down and picked up a flyer on the ground. She motioned for Carmen and Sam to take a look at it. They grabbed it and read:
GIRLS:
Show off your talent at the Kennedy High first annual beauty pageant. Open to grades 9-12. Someone will be crowned 2001 Miss Kennedy High!
The all looked at each other. Here we go again, they all thought. The bell rang and everybody dispersed.
(IN THE NOVAK…)
Mary Cherry read the notice out loud to Brooke and Nichole. They all smiled greedily.
"So, girls," Mary Cherry said, "Are you in?"
Brooke and Nichole shook their heads yes.
They all headed towards Principal Krupps office to sign up. When they got in there they ran into about one hundred other girls who must have had the same idea.
