Sweetheart
"Hi, how was your day?" Nick asked Jackie as she walked through the door.
"You know those days when you get home and you wonder to yourself why in the hell did I go into this profession?"
"Yes, I have those all the time." Nick answered.
"Well that's the kind of day I had." Jackie responded.
"I'm sorry. Want to talk about it?"
"No, what I'd really like is a glass of wine which I obviously can't have."
"Well, I can't give you wine but caffeine is safe if you have it in moderation right?"
"Yeah, Dr. Wilson said that it's ok if I have 1 twelve ounce cup of coffee a day, although I don't do it."
"Well ok, is there caffeine free options at your favorite coffee shop, I'll go get you a frap if you want." Nick offered sweetly.
"Thanks hon, I'd love that, and yes they do have caffeine free options, just ask them which flavors are caffeine free and pick one, I'll drink anything except green tea, I hate that one." She told him.
"Ok, I'll be back in a bit." He told her.
He came back about a half hour later carrying a tray full of drinks.
"Did you decide to stock up or what?" Jackie asked him with a smile.
He laughed.
"I got banana smoothies for the kids too, I got it for them for a treat but it will actually be good for them, I watched her make them and she put an actual banana in there, not just banana flavoring." He told her.
"They'll like that." She responded.
"And for you miss mommy-to-be I got an iced vanilla something or other, I asked her if it was safe to drink while pregnant and she said yes, she said that there was no caffeine in it, and then she suggested to make it a little more healthy I get it with low fat milk so that's what I did, I hope that's ok."
"That's just fine, I always get it with low fat milk." She assured him.
"Oh and I know you always blend yours but the blender was broken so I just got it over ice, sorry. In all honesty Jacks, I didn't really know what I was doing."
"That's fine, and thanks so much for doing that, you are so sweet."
"You're welcome." He responded as he lightly kissed her forehead.
The kids loved their special treat their daddy had gotten them, even Karlie, who wasn't the biggest fan of bananas drank every last sip.
Jackie enjoyed her drink even more than the kids liked their shake, she knew that she was very blessed to have such a sweet and supportive husband.
