Clouds fist connected with the youths jaw with an awfully meaty thud. "How could you!" He demanded.
Zack seemed oblivious to the slit on his chin, merely shifted his weight on the cool white wall behind him, letting Clouds hands pin him painfully there with strong pressure against his chest.
"Just how the hell could you!"
"I had no choice Cloud." He murmered.
"You promised! You promised you wouldnt leave me, you promised you'd always be there." Cloud gritted out, voice shaking with unsheadable tears.
"You knew I was lying then Cloud. We arent in the posision to pe promising eternal life."
It was true, but it didnt make anything better.
"I love you." Cloud whispered, pulling his body flush against Zacks, head against chest.
That was true to, but not even love could revive the dead.
"You loved me." Zack corrected calmly. "You'll love someone else."
"...No one will be like you." The blonde murmered.
"Good to hear." The SOLDIER smirked. "Ill always be in your memories Cloud."
Cloud looked up, eyes as close to tears as theyde been in years, breaking Zacks heart a little. "You deserve more than that."
"Ill always be in your heart." The raven haired man murmered, hand brushing the mentioned area. "And there is no place better than that."
Even as Cloud watched Zacks hand shimmered, dissapearing. "Wait, please."
Zack regarded him carefully, then leant down despite the restricting hands on his chest. He captured the younger mans lips tenderly, love in his every movement, in his breath, in his eyes. "I cant Cloud, the lifestream becons." He smirked when they parted. "Let me go."
Slowly Cloud removed his hands from the SOLDIERS chest. He didnt notice them shake as Zacks body slowly shimmered the green of the lifestream.
Reality broke through the time lapse of the lifestreams actions, Cloud felt his cold, his greif. Zack was still gone. Love couldnt bring him back. In the end the emotion was useless...A waste...
'Let me go.'
Zacks last request...and Cloud wasnt sure he would ever be able to do it...wasnt sure he could ever let Zack go...
