Prologue and Introduction: This takes place during the SAO arc of the original SAO series. This is set in a reality where the events that occurred in SAO ep. 14 of the anime never really happened and the ALO arc didn't take place.
Start: As the sword of the last boss hit the ground and dematerialized, a quiet fell over the entire raid party. They had finally done it, they had beat the last boss and were now expecting to be able to leave. Kirito and Asuna, who in the fell clutches of circumstance, grasped each other and both knew they were thinking the same thing. "I can finally meet him/her in the real world!" and were pondering about how their relationship would be affected. As the cheers finally erupted from the crowd, a GM message appeared with the words "CONGRATULATIONS! You have cleared the last level of SAO. You will now be permitted to log in and out freely!" As everyone embraced, they took no notice of a couple, together in the dark corner, locked in an embrace so tight that it was uncertain that they would ever come apart, between them was the shimmering form of a small child, clutching to them as a child would clutch his or her parents. Whatever awaited them in the real world, they didn't know, but all they knew is that they'd face it, no longer alone, but together.
(Seventy Years Later)
Introduction: Seven decades have passed since Kirito and Asuna had beaten and been freed from SAO. Kirito, now known as his actual moniker Kazuto had become the owner of his own game design company, with his now non-virtual wife Asuna becoming his partner in business and in other more personal matters. At the ripe age of 60, he had retired from public life along with his wife, and now lived a quiet life with his wife and digital daughter Yui. Despite his best efforts, Yui had not been able to be transferred into the physical world and had remained a program. Approaching the end of his lifespan, he had a few regrets, mostly concerning his daughter. This scene takes place on Kirito's deathbed. Asuna has already passed several years prior to this story.
"Papa? Papa can you hear me?" Yui whispered through the speakers next to Kirito's nightstand. "Yes Yui, I can hear you." Kazuto replied. Tears leaked through his wrinkled eyes as he reminisced on his life with Yui and Asuna. "Papa, why are you leaving me? Why are you leaving Yui alone?" Yui cried. "I'm sorry Yui, I always knew it would come to this, I'm so sorry." "I wanted to spend more time with you and Mama, Papa, why do you need to leave?" "Yui, listen to me, no matter what happens, Papa will be with you, always. Mama and Papa will always be in your memories and beyond." Kazuto's complexion grew pallid as he realized his time was fast approaching. Yui, also realizing this, cried out "No Papa! Stay with Yui longer! Stay with me longer!" She materialized as a hologram and with tears running down her cheeks, kneeled by Kazuto's bedside. Kazuto, with his last vestiges of strength, managed to pull his hand up, and cupped Yui's cheeks, and whispered, "Live on Yui, Papa will always be with you…" Kazuto's hand fell, and thus did Kirigaya Kazuto, the beater, the survivor, and lastly, the father, did pass. Yui, disbelieving, attempted to clutch her father hand, but to no avail. At last, he realized that he had passed on, and with a cry of despair, collapsed beside her father's bed. She had felt pain when her mother had passed, but her father, the father who had given her a home even though she had originally been a mere part of the Cardinal system, his passing had proved too much for her, and she drifted into a land of formless void, of black and of silence.
