It was as we were standing before the Volturi that my life changed once again. Of course, rescuing your vampiric boyfriend from suicidal death is not an everyday thing and neither is trying to stay alive before a council of vampires. Ever since we had stepped foot onto Italian soil, I had been shaking like a leaf, my anger was that palpable. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really able to understand a word they were saying, that is how angry I was. First off, Edward left me. Then he goes to kill himself because I supposedly died. Why the hell would he do that if he didn't care about me? Then these vampires decide they have the right to play God and threaten me as well as the Cullens. They have some nerve!

Everyone became quiet as a loud growl echoed through the room. I was slightly surprised to find it was myself that growled, but it did not hinder the words that came out of my mouth. "Who the fuck do you think you are?" My voice was low and full of danger. Aro, Marcus and Caius's faces were so surprised for an instant and then they became angry. "You are not God. You do not have the right to choose between life and death. The Cullens and myself are of no danger to you or any of you coven. Hell, there are only eight of us and a whole room full of you with a menacing bitch who likes to play games and a couple of little boys who like to hurt people for fun. There is no reason that you should not let us go."

"No reason!" Aro's voice rose in a high pitch as his anger made his words come out harshly. "The Cullens allowed someone not a vampire to learn of our existence. We cannot tolerate that. You have to die for your resistance. As do the Cullens for allowing you to run out of control."

"Give me a break. The Cullens did not allow me to do anything. Nor did they tell me any of your secrets. I figured it out for myself. What, do you think humans are stupid? Has it been so long since you were human that you have forgotten what it was like? Or have you had your head shoved so far up your ass that the daylight does not shine through?" By now my body was aching from all the shakes going through it.

"Bella!" Edward was stunned and getting angry as well now. "What are you doing? Do you want to get us killed? We are among the most feared and dangerous vampires in the world."

"Shut up, Edward." At this, everyone gasped. The rest of the Cullens, especially, were stunned. They had never seen me like this and no one had ever talked to Edward like this. "I am quite aware of where we are, are you? You have no idea how pissed off I am right now. First you leave me in the middle of the woods telling me that you no longer love me and don't want me anymore." At this statement, all of the Cullens growled menacingly, but I ignored them. "Then, as soon as you hear that I was dead, you come to this bunch of blood suckers and try to get yourself killed. Why the hell would you do that when you didn't care what happened to me in the first place? Then! Then, these morons decide that, after everything I have been through, I have to die! And why? Because they are too narrow minded to actually look and evaluate a situation instead of making snap decisions!" At this, everything snapped inside me and all I felt was blinding pain. When I was aware of my surroundings again, I realized that I was growling and closer to the ground than normal. Looking down, I saw strawberry-blond colored paws and realized what I was: a werewolf.
