Chapter 1: The reaping

I couldn't believe it. It was insane really, I mean what were the odds of it, that's all I could think. All I kept hearing was "Dolphin Pirate" in my head over and over as I was both picked and condemned in the same second. I had already seen the people picked before me, so I knew it was hopeless even trying. How could I ever beat Juniper, or even Old Lady? I knew I was doomed, at least Really Big Turtle will go down too, I never liked him.

Darkness. That's all I could see. I closed my eyes the second I heard my name be called out. I won't open them until I get to the games. I can't believe it, why me. Little did the crowds know the reason my eyes were closed was to hide the tears.

I can't wait! All those Gods are gonna be going DOWN to Tartarus after I've finished smacking them with my hitting root. I can't wait to reach the Capitol, my canopy is bright red with excitement. NO one, I repeat, NO ONE can withstand my sharp twigs, not the lil' titan, not the bean brain and not Snap, Crackle or Pop! I cannot wait for the interviews!
