Rise To Power: Prologue
Darkness descended over the vast fields of Hyrule as the sun blanketed itself on the horizon far to the west. A sense of impeding doom filled the hearts of those sensitive to it. Children buried themselves in their mothers' warm bodies to escape the fear and fathers sat anxiously at their tables smoking at cigars eagerly. They knew that when the sun reached down to hold Hyrule in her fiery embrace once again, nothing would be the same.
The Kokiri children hid in their tree houses and the Zoras dived deep into the blue waters of their Domain. The Gorons huddled together in their king's chambers while the villagers of Kakariko locked their doors and closed their gates.
The king was dead and his only heir had disappeared in the flames of the onslaught brought upon the castle by the undead warriors of the King of Evil. The evil assailant who led the attacks now sat on the throne, working his dark magics to plague the beautiful land of Hyrule. The once proud Hyrulian Army had been completely torn apart like a pack of scattered animals chased by hungry predators. They were lured to the bodies of their wives and children and then ambushed in their blood stained homes. There were no heroes.
Hyrule Market Town, the prosperous capital, was now overrun with the living corpses of the soul stealing Re-Dead. Ghosts roamed freely over the fields, chasing down refugees and sucking the life from their bodies.
Death Mountain groaned loudly throughout that first night and tall waves lashed violently across the usually calm surface of Lake Hylia. The forests grew dark and impenetrable while icy winds began to blow across the landscapes. The world seemed to die that night.
Every living thing, flesh or plant, trembled as waves of terrible power washed over them, poisoning their futures. There was no hope left in the hearts of those who had fallen victim. They were done crying to the skies for salvation. The gods were no where in sight.
I know, I know. It's really short. But this is just a prologue. I figured I would write a story about Ganondorph and his short reign over the world of Hyrule. The actual story is more detailed and actually goes into what he thinks and does. I mean…do you honestly think he sealed the sages, took over the temples, caught the Gorons, froze the Zoras, drained the lake, took over Lon Lon Ranch, and built his castle in one day? Come on now. Let's be serious! Hahahaha…cough So I hope you guys like this story. I've got 2 chapters done but I'm in no rush.
