"You know, I'm surprised you come here so often," said Aerith as she twirled the flower between her fingers. Cloud rolled onto his side to face her and frowned.
"Why?"
"Well for one you hardly ever slept when we were journeying around the Planet."
"I didn't really have a reason to sleep."
She tilted her head to the side and playfully dragged the flower down his face. He scrunched his nose up and twisted his head out of the way but Aerith caught the small smile that he had.
"What reason do you have now?" she asked gently.
"I have nicer dreams."
It took a moment for her to catch on to the meaning of his words but when she did her delicate cheeks were painted a cute pink and she bowed her head in an attempt to hide it. They sat in comfortable silence before she suddenly rolled over and let her head rest on his chest. Cloud was too stunned to say or do anything in response so he just let her.
"I wish we could stay like this forever," she sighed. He allowed his hand to reach into her hair, playing gently with the strands.
"Me too," he whispered.
He hated having to wake up in the mornings and leave her. He always waited for night to come. It was his favourite part of the day because it meant he could see her face again. And these precious few hours meant the world to him.
