It was a pretty spring day in the London countryside. Alfred loved sunny days like these, especially since they were few in London. He didn't know why he stayed in London, with it being so rainy but he couldn't bring himself to leave. Not when he couldn't bring Arthur along with him. In fact he was going to visit Arthur today. The thought made him smile happily blue eyes lighting up. It would be good to see him since it had been raining the past few days keeping Alfred inside. With that thought in mind he turned down the next street, humming merrily. As he walked, he came across a flower stand and some roses caught his attention. He gave a grin. Arthur would love them! He quickly hurried over to the stand an excited gleam in his eyes.
"How much for a dozen?" he asked and the elderly lady working the stand gave a smile.
"Twenty. Getting them for a lady friend?" she replied and Arthur chuckled.
"Something like that." He answered as he dug out some cash. He got his roses and thanked the lady before heading off again. He whistled a merry tune as he went on his way, greeting those he knew as he went. He finally reached his destination and opened the gate. He walked down the narrow path, one that was all too familiar. He ignored the pain that wanted to overwhelm him as his feet took him to the place. He saw a dark haired man standing at the simple marker with an angel standing guard and he waited giving the other man some privacy. When the other left, he approached smiling softly. "Hey Artie. I brought you some flowers." Alfred spoke, kneeling and placing the flowers into the stand that was there for them. He saw Kiku had already left some flowers as well and his expression started to fall until he realized they weren't roses. "I see Kiku's been here. He doesn't talk to me anymore, not like he talked with you. He even moved out. He always liked you better." The blonde ducked his head slightly. He could almost hear Arthur calling him an idiot and smiled. "You would call me an idiot wouldn't you?"
"I think I'd call anyone who talked to a grave an idiot if I didn't know them better." A soft voice spoke and Alfred's head snapped up to see the speaker. It was Kiku. The small Japanese man looked worn and tired and Alfred realized just how much a toll this had taken on the other man. The blonde stood rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"Kiku-"
"I didn't like Arthur better." Alfred blinked surprised by the words.
"Wh-what?"
"You heard me. I didn't like Arthur better, I merely knew him longer than I knew you." The darker haired man explained patiently. Alfred stared for a moment then smiled and nodded.
"I get it now." He paused then held out his hand. "Let's go home." Kiku hesitated for a moment then took Alfred's hand. They left the cemetery hand-in-hand, both really happy for the first time in months.
