I sit in a corner of the house
Watching…. Waiting….
Mommy will come find me
He won't work
He just sits there
Watching TV….
He has given up
I wouldn't….
I'll never give up

Mommy will find me
She'll come for me….
I know she will
She has always come for me….
One knock….
Two knocks….
The knocking continues…..
He finally gets up
Opens the door….
There she stands
Her red hair is tied back
Her blue eyes are shinning
She gets down on her knees
Her arms are open for me
I get up
I run to her
"MOMMY!"
I cry
She came
He was wrong
I jump into her arms
She holds me tight
As we leave
He stands in the door way
I wave goodbye for now
For tomorrow is another day and I'll see him soon
