Bunny, North, Tooth, and Sandy were, once again, waiting for their youngest member, Jack Frost, so they could start their monthly Guardian meeting. Bunny huffed in annoyance at least once every minute, and after about ten minutes, Tooth had grown tired of the noise.
"Bunny!" she snapped. "If you are so impatient, why don't you go and fetch him?"
"Excellent idea, Toothy!" North smiled, grabbing his fifteenth cookie from his plate. "Bunny, be quick. I have several toys to test today." His face lit up in wonder. "Maybe I can convince Jack to help?"
Bunny only rolled his eyes and tapped his foot on the ground so that one of his tunnels would appear. He quickly jumped inside and headed towards the first place he could think of: Burgess.
But Jack wasn't there.
But Bunny wasn't worried, yet. He headed towards the next place he could think of: Antarctica.
As Bunny muttered on about his frozen paws, he heard the familiar, annoying laughter that was Jack's. Bunny hurried towards the direction of the sound and came over a hill before stopping in shock.
Jack stood in front of a huge mass of penguins.
"Blimey, mate!" Bunny gawked, making Jack jump and turn around in shock. "Where'd you get all the penguins? More important, why do you have them lined up like they're ready to go on a battlefield?"
Jack looked down to the ground in embarrassment. Bunny raised an eyebrow.
"Well, Jack? I ain't got all day, ya gumby."
Jack muttered something that Bunny didn't catch.
"What, mate?"
"They're my army," Jack replied grumpily.
"An army?" Bunny asked in shock. Then he started laughing. "What kind of army is an armada of penguins? What will they do? Squawk fear into the heart of Pitch?"
Jack only glared at Bunny. "Well, North has his yetis and elves; Tooth has her fairies; Sandy has his sand creatures; you have your eggs and golems." He sighed. "I wanted an army of my own, so I could help in the next fight."
Bunny suddenly felt bad for laughing at Jack's 'army'. He sighed and placed a paw on Jack's shoulder.
"Jack, you don't need an army to prove your worth in battle," he said. "You defeated fear itself. Why would you need an army after an accomplishment like that?" Jack shrugged and refused to look Bunny in the eye. Bunny frowned. "You want to prove yourself with an army? Let me show you how."
Jack looked up at Bunny with hope and excitement in his eyes. The Guardian couldn't help but smile back.
North, Tooth, and Sandy sat patiently in the Globe Room, waiting for Bunny to return with Jack and complain about the immortal teen losing time creating a snowstorm and busying himself with snowball fights.
They suddenly heard a bunch of pattering, but they figured it was the elves. Suddenly, the doors burst open and dozens, probably around 150 penguins burst into the room, squawking away a battle cry and charging at the Guardians. The three screamed in shock and Tooth and Sandy shot into the air while the penguins pounced onto North, knocking him to the ground as he tried to scramble out of his chair. Two familiar laughters were heard and in came Bunny and Jack, wiping their eyes.
"And that, Frostbite," Bunny patted Jack's back. "Is how to efficiently start a surprise attack."
"Noted," Jack said before continuing to laugh.
The pair suddenly went quiet when Sandy made a dreamsand baseball in his hand and pointed to them to aim. They looked at each other before taking off, the golden spirit chasing after them with a smirk on his face.
