I wrote this to comfort myself after reading 556 and beyond. Specifically chapter 573. Damn you Oda-sensei. Takes place after the Enies Lobby arch.

Disclaimer: One Piece belongs to the horrible Oda.

Luffy knew his crew very well. Better than most people thought he did. Which is how he knows Zoro was going to be leaving his bed soon. The reason for Zoro leaving is not important to Luffy, although he knows it. No, what is important is that Zoro is going to leave his bed in Water 7's infirmary room after only being there for three hours. Zoro, none of them, are even close to being healed. Luffy estimates he has about ten more minutes before Zoro wakes up.

So he rolls off his bed and onto the floor. His whole body protests, but Luffy ignores it. He goes, one roll at a time, to the other end of the room. To Zoro. Once he at the bed he is at a loss. How to get up there? He doesn't have the strength left to climb up. An idea strikes him and he stretches his neck, moving his head over the swordsman's body and bits the other side of the bed. Then he pulls himself up on the bed.

Zoro comes awake as his captain's body presses against his. "Luffy, what?"

"Cold." The black hair boy arranges himself more comfortably. "Zoro's warm."

Said man sighes. He knows that isn't the only reason Luffy has come to him. He wrappes his arms around him. Say lay in silence, each listening to the heart beat of the other. Soon the younger one falls asleep.

"Thank you, Captain."
