A Conversation with an Old Friend

You've missed so much… my friend…

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN FULL METAL ALCHEMIST!

Hatred…

He was full of it. Hatred of himself for being so…stupid.

Greed…

He had it; he had committed it the most. Always trying to make everyone help him climb the ranks to the Fuhrer.

Lust…

Not only the craving, but the craving for blood itself. Blood shed and tears to fall. He wished for it, well… But his heart cried out every time this thought came into mind. How could he do such a thing? What was in his nature that made him this way? How did he become what he was? A deadly weapon of choice, used for war, and only war…

He had but one thought in mind. Of his friends and family. Of those who were his victims. He didn't want to do this any longer. And when that faithful day of his best friend, Lieutenant Colonel Maes Hughes, being murdered by that soulless devil from hell, he knew that even with him gone; he'd need his help to strive on.

So every few days, he'd visit that grave, the one that was made for his friend when they had the memorial service, slowly lowering the box with his friend's name and corpse in it, into the ground, piling dirt and other Earthly elements on top of it.

But when he visited his friend, to talk with him, even if not a single response was heard…

He still talked.

"...Hello, Maes. How are you doing down there? Have you found anybody to bother, yet? If I ever see any living dead, I will assume that it was you who scared them out of their graves.

...I'm officially stationed in Central from today, Maes. Brought Hawkeye, Havoc, Breda, Fuery, and even Farman with me. Gracia sounded glad about it and Alicia seemed to think that having her Uncle Roy around is a joy. Very much your daughter, she is.

...Sorry I can't stay too long, Maes. I have some work to do and Hawkeye won't forgive me if I don't arrive back in the office in fifteen minutes. But then again, she's always displeased with me. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that she has the hots for me.

…Heheh…

...Hey, Maes... If you ever find the Rockbells there, could you tell them that I'm sorry?

...See you again, Hughes."
