Chapter 1
Kara's POV:
It all happened in a flash. One minute I am working on the Nathan James and then the next minute I am being taken hostage. I am stuck in a car when I look up to see that I am being taken to Avocet. I am being dragged into the building against my will fighting the men who have me. All I can do is try and fight back. I try screaming but they just cover my mouth. Then we come up to these doors and when they open I see a hospital like bed and a bunch of equipment. I scream again as I am thrown onto the bed and strapped down. It then hit me. My baby. Mine and Danny's baby. They are after the baby. I start to panic more and wish that the crew can find me before its too late. I look as the so called doctor is doing an ultrasound. I start crying at the sight of my unborn child. Then I see a scalpel. The doctor goes for it. Along with a giant needle. All of the sudden my whole body goes limp. It feels like I am paralyzed. But I can still feel everything. The doctor starts to cut my stomach. I try to scream in pain but they gagged my mouth so sound cant escape. I am pouring tears and I hear yelling. They kept saying I was bleeding more than I should be. I knew I was dying. And all I can think about is how I failed to protect Danny's baby. I became very out of it and I heard panic in the room as everything went black.
Danny's POV:
I suddenly have a bad feeling in my stomach. Like something was wrong. I try to radio the CIC on the ship to speak with Kara. But no one answered. That made me more sure that something was seriously wrong. I am with Captain Chandler. "Captain, I have a really bad feeling that something is wrong." I tell him. Then I see Tex and Rachel come running up to us. "They have Kara. They figured out the pregnancy." Rachel says in a panic. "Where is she?!" I ask. "I saw them taking her towards the lab." She replied. "We need to get there now!" I said. As we are running to where Kara is I am just hoping that we will get to her before it is too late. We turn a corner and see the doors to the lab. I see people running around inside. Chandler orders the power to be cut off. The building goes black. I see guards and staff running out the lab trying to get anything to get light back in there. Then as the doors open once again my heart stops. I hear the scream I never wanted to hear. I knew it was Kara. The scream was one I have never heard anyone make. I knew that was a scream of pure agony. We are shooting the guards as we go through the many hallways trying to find Kara. The screams stop. And I knew we were too late.
Kara's POV:
I wake up again as the power goes out. All I can feel is intense pain. My mouth had been gagged when I passed out but its not now. They must have thought I wouldn't wake back up. I begin to scream in extreme pain. I hear gunshots outside and hope it's the team. I am able to break free of one of my restraints. I grab the needle while the doctor has his back turned. When he turns back and looks for the needle I stab him in the leg. I couldn't sit up to get him anywhere else. He screams and grabs the scalpel but falls when he tried to use the leg I just stabbed. I feel the fire like burning. I scream out as I hear more gunshots. I am able to free myself despite the pain. I get up as quick as I can and try to stand up but fall from the weakness. I then see all the blood on the floor. I was hemorrhaging. I struggle to crawl and get away from the doctor. I drag myself as far as I can before I black out again from the pain and blood loss.
